after pushing the red buttons, and going out of the room, look in the floor drain in the main triangle area

Quickly hit the bottom button in that room and take the hand from the corpse in the square room (for the scanner).

I concur, examine the room closely while pressing each button one at a time. If need be, we can use the kitten to experiment with.
