The only RPGs for PC, that don't feel comfortable, are console ports, as they aren't designed to be operated with mouse+keyboard.
Also there are fewer RPGs for console, than there are for PC.
I assume he means Final Fantasy like games?  If they made one which made proper use of the keyboard I bet it would be nicely nicer than your Final Fantasy setup, actually.

Arguing that consoles have better controllers for ANYTHING is silly, since PC works with console controllers AND more, whereas consoles work only with their own specific controller.

Well many of the more recent ones, like Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Oblivion and Mass Effect (haven't played the latter).
Console ports all suffer from a number of identical issues.
My most recent and annoying example: Call of Duty: Black Ops.

With Sarah Palin as the heroine in distress. Obviously, Obama would be the main enemy, a socialistic terrorist that is trying to destroy the american dream.

Sarah Palin is too busy negotiating the royalties for her helicopter wolf-shooting hunting simulator.

To be honest I'd play that.
Helicopter wolfs sound bad ass.

In response to the original post:

One huge, huge, advantage that PCs have that I have not seen brought up in this thread is versatility. This takes forms including, but not limited to:
-Being able to use my PC for both gaming and non-gaming activities
-Being able to modify the game myself
-Being able to download and use mods developed by other people
I consider modding to be very important. Not only does it allow you to customize the game in order to get what you enjoy most, but it also allows you to get far, far more playing and enjoyment out of the game.

I would also like to put the following idea forward: That as consoles get more advanced, they start to become a sort of PC instead of a completely seperate system.

I doubt that will happen, ed.

Consoles have to keep cheap, the more specialized and crappy the components, the cheaper it will be. You can't say much of that about the PS3, but take the Xbox... DVD reader that breaks down and they couldn't even spend another 10 bucks to put in a better fan in there?

Of course not. They have to minimise losses. :P

Well let's compare the features of the playstation and the NES. The playstation can play more demanding games, but it can also do the following:
-Play DVDs and Blu-ray disks
-Use keyboards and mice
-Utilize internet and network to game and perform tasks other than gaming
-Probably lots more, but I couldn't say as I don't have the latest playstation
If it were merely a gaming machine, it wouldn't have a large number of these features.

Caveat: You're apparently talking about the playstation three. Maybe two, I'unno. Blu-ray and DVDs didn't even exist when the PSX came out :P

Even the psx had new computer-like features that the previous generation of consoles did not have, such as memory cards allowing saves to be saved independent of the game disc and transferred from machine to machine.

Did you know a research company, possibly in the military, actually bought PS3s and installed linux on them to use as super computers.

When the PS3 was released Sony was selling them at a loss, they were actually losing money.

The selling them at a loss is indicative of the business model, not the qualities of the machine.

and it looks like it was the USAF that built the supercomputer.

That's because the first PS3s let you run linux and as mentioned, they were being sold at a loss. So obviously it was cheaper to use that than build actual computers.

New PS3s don't let you run linux.

This is pretty interesting, seems that PS2 had almost 150 million sales, whilst PS3 had a little over 30 million, though the PS2 did have 2 more years.
