Looking over that list, I see that about a third of them are going to be crappy ripp-offs branded as sequels. While PC gaming may not be dead, it seriously should consider a health insurance...

Wow there really are some things I didn't know about... including things I'd never expected, like American McGee's Alice II... and Beyond Good and Evil 2.... Wasn't expecting there to be sequels to those.

Battlefield play4free looks interesting, because I always like free stuff, especially good free stuff, and battlefield is (generally) a good franchise.

Dead State, potentially very interesting.

Xenonauts... I vaguely remember hearing about that, but everyone's looking for a decent xcom clone, and this could be the one that hits that itch.

Jagged Alliance 2 reloaded, and Jagged Alliance 3, could be good.

Tropico 4 I didn't know about, that could be fun if it improves on the game, I can think of one or two ways, but the law of sequels states that when a sequel is spammed the chances are strong it will suck.

Apart from that, there's good looking games that I'd forgotten were coming, and a bunch of atmospheric indie games (a lot of those seem to be popping up... not that I'm complaining).

Pnx...this is probably silly of me, but do you know of a tattoo shop in Portland, Oregon, called Lucid Ink?  Had to ask.

PC gaming is preeeetty far from dead, I don't think it ever started to die.

Actually, I'd say that the only games I would play on a console are a few FPSs (things I grew up with on a console, like halo, I can't play it right on a PC), everything Nintendo, platformers (I prefer them on a console.) and driving games.

Everything else must be on a PC.

(BTW, I put handhelds in with consoles)

After Minecraft, AI war, Distant worlds and everything Paradox has made, I actually love PC gaming more than ever.

I think there's far too much evidence that PC gaming isn't dying to have to bring up facts and figures to defend it.

That having been said, while I spend most of my time nowadays with PC games, nothing beats the feel of a controller in your hands when playing a classic platformer or what-have-you.

Actually, I don't think PC Gaming can die. If I'm buying a machine with eight gibibytes of RAM, a quad-core CPU and a GPU capable of wrangling complex 3DSMax scenes, I'm not going to turn it off and go occupy a TV with a console every time I want some quality entertainment. As long as powerful PCs exist, games will be made for them, even if only on the "by gamers for gamers" basis when/if the platform becomes "niche".

Computers also allow for more freedom. New, promising game companies will generally atleast start out on PC.

When I want quality entertainment I turn off the TV and head to the computer. >.>

But I have a thing against controllers. I'm sure that if some console came with a mouse and keyboard, I'd at least try to enjoy them somewhat. Then there's the thing I like to multi-task. Whenever I'm playing a game, I'm also chatting on messengers, I pause to go look at some websites, and things like that.

If only there was some way you could plug in a controller AND a keyboard + mouse... :P
