WAIT WAIT WAIT.
Jim.
Ohohoho.

Quote from: Jim
Everybody should believe Org's claim. I'm an Agent, and he came up human. JTF protected me last night both from the dopp that tried to kill me and Org's indiscriminate blasting.
Okay guys, answer me this. Lets say, for the moment, that I am town, which I am, but we will get to why this is why I am claiming.
If Janus protected Jim, what did I shoot?

Jim.

Who was being protected by Janus.

Frankly, the idea of Janus protecting you is ridiculous, while the chance of Janus protecting Jim is very high.

That's the exact reason why I believe it too.

The Monitor
Jim Groovester: Toaster
Toaster: Jim Groovester, Jokerman-EXE, Leafsnail, Mysteriousbluepuppet, Org, ToonyMan, Zathras

Toaster looks up at the monitor and shrugs before heading up. The buzzer goes off once he steps onto the platform, and the monitor changes.

  Toaster will be lynched

The blue light dances over him and the monitor changes again.

  Toaster
  Doppelganger
  Psychic Warden

The director of the simulation comes into the room, followed by the participants who were eliminated.

"Very good job, everyone! Excellent teamwork from our Agents, and their Operative, and some good insights and decisions on the part of the rest of you made this an almost textbook solution. A round of applause for all of you."

Everyone claps. It was a fun simulation, and much shorter than anticipated.

"I'd like to invite all of you to head off to the main reception area. We've got a small party planned before you go off to your regular jobs."

He pauses a moment as two security personnel enter the room.

"Ah, except for you, ToonyMan. We have some questions for you, first." A rather puzzled and worried looking ToonyMan is led off, while the rest of you head off to the reception area. You spend a while discussing what the problem might be, but the answer doesn't show up for a few weeks.

----------------------------

An office Memo is sent around discussing a new form of Alien Life, so far undetected on Earth. They are Spore Spreaders, and it seems that ToonyMan had been infected by them! If he hadn't revealed himself, things could have gone quite badly for the organization. Fortunately, he has been put into containment and is being studied.

------------------

More disturbing news is released later. Agent Zathras has escaped, after a random check revealed that he was an actual Doppelganger! The entire Agency is on the look for him, as he had access to a lot of sensitive information that could make finding other Doppelgangers much more difficult if he's able to pass that information along.

It seems the exercise wasn't quite as successful at finding the doppelgangers as you'd all thought. But who would have guessed that a real one would have found its way in??

Game is over.

All Human players have lost, regardless of which team they were on.

The Agent Operative, Jokerman-EXE has lost.

ToonyMan, the Spore Spreader, has lost for exposing his secret to the Agency!

Congratulations to Zathras for managing to keep his true identity a complete secret! A Doppelganger victory above all others.

Do people want all the secrets of this game exposed? Or should I hold on to things and not reveal everything like I normally do?

I'm tempted to just tell everything, since if I did another Bastard game it'd probably have to be completely different to be a challenge anyway.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Woohoo! I win! Cancels out the humble pie from this morning! This was a fun game, and the most devious I've ever played. It could have been even shorter, but we'll go into that later.

Yes! Show all! Tell all!

I'll let you guys discuss things for a bit. I won't be online for most of the evening, so you may not get further details until tomorrow anyway.

Hope you all had fun, at least!

My biggest question is if keeping my big mouth closed and waiting half a day for the game to be over would make a difference or not.

I'm not sure, but seeing as town lost I probably would have lost either way.  Damn.  I bet Zathras actually bothered to figure out how the bastard-ness worked.  Good job there, I remember complimenting you when the game near started and that held true.

Well, I'll reveal some tidbits then: I was an actual doppelganger masquerading as an Agent.

There was a team of three: Jim, Jokerman and myself, who were given each other names as the agents in training. Joker turned out to be an Op, and Jim and I Agents. We opened a quicktopic here: http://www.quicktopic.com/45/H/ia7ZvrNq6CVd

I was told that as long as I was undetected by the end, I'd win, so I played it as townie as possible. I could NK, but could skip it N1 and N2 (I would have to NK N3 due to hunger). I cast suspicions on Jokerman from the start, as he played very shifty.

N1 I investigated Toaster, and hit dopp; Jim did Toony and hit alien. This, plus JTF's scummy case against Argembarger made things easier for me.

Jokerman chose as tech a shield, a deadman bomb, and a modulator. He very kindly shared his shield with me N1, which saved my ass from Toaster's N1 kill attempt!

D2, I contacted Toaster over PM and passed myself as survivor/Agent Op (I'll post some of that later), told him I had a deadman bomb (which I didn't), and convinced him to leave me alone.

N2, I had the absolute perfect plan! and it would have worked if Jim and I had reversed our choice of targets for the night, and if JTF hadn't protected him: Joker had given Jim the deadman bomb, and Toaster was going to target him! If he hadn't been protected, then he'd have blown himself up on the bomb, and the game would have been over before D3 started. It would've been awesome! Oh well...

I tried to make Jokerman keep the bomb and then out him to Toaster as the agent, which would have been cleaner (no one would have protected jokerman), but Jim insisted on the bomb, so I had no choice but to risk it.

Also, I totally bluffed when I told the agent team that I inspected Leaf N2 and got "human"; I in fact !noactioned, being weary of a potential PWV out there (which there was, but it was Org, not Leaf).

All in all, a very fun game. Apologies to Jim, Toaster, and Joker for my deception, but hey, I was scum, deception is par for the course...

Finally, I was being truthful D1: claiming kook D1 is totally a viable tactic for scum: I claimed kook to Jim over PM D1, and that kept him from scanning me or being overly suspicious...

I'll post some extracts from the PMs shortly.

PPE: Yes, Toony; I'm sure that if you hadn't claimed SS, you would also have won.
