Since I play with temperature off, I looked up few z levels higher and unpaused. Almost got a seizure from that.

I had the same thing in one of my worlds, cept the only dry land i had was a adamentine tower, and the lava was like... 30 layers deep, and it was more like i embarked in the middle of a huge lava river then a lava ocean, it was flowing in continuously on one side, and out on the other.

If someone gets a fortress going on that, that is awesome. I can imagine that food and booze will be pretty tough, although the chance of fire imps and other Fun monsters spawning might be pretty deadly too. But if a fortress survives.... That would be quite a dwarfy fortress, almost completely surrounded by magma.

No...you dont understand. You cant build there, the picture shows the game at 1 second after embark. After a few more, everything is covered.

Ah, that sucks... I thought there were a couple of patches of land. Too bad though, would have been Fun trying to establish a fortress on top of a lava sea.

You could still use dfliquids to create some islands

This is like one of those cartoons, the embarked crew are asleep and the leader is drunk off his ass driving the wagon. Once everyone wakes up ready to deploy, they take a few steps, only to realize, "HOW THE HELL DID WE ARRIVE HERE?!!"
