Hey, that faith in the gamer community I had?

http://www.edge-online.com/news/mass-effect-pledgers-thought-they-were-paying-new-ending

Shattered. I guess I learned my lesson.

So, a few people too dumb to understand the concept of charity represent all of the people involved? It says right there in the article that 'some people' sent mail about that.
Agreed.  Given how hostile gaming media have been to critics of ME3 and the fact that no numbers or posts are cited in the edge article to indicate the magnitude I'm inclined to think that these are a minority used to strawman the majority, similar to how they also tried to marginalize critics by accusing them of homophobia and misogyny.  That said, even if I don't agree with Jerry and Mike's opinion on ME3, I strongly agree with them discouraging the use of their charity for blatant marketing purposes, as this can often be underhanded.

I don't really see the appeal in "Retake Mass Effect".  It seems wasteful, like a campaign to get George Lucas and M. Night Shyamalan to start making good movies.  They've got their heads so far up their asses that they don't see how gaping plot holes, trite characters, and general bad pacing and writing are flaws that they need to address (Bioware is further hampered by their lapdogs at IGN and Destructoid trying as hard as they can to stop the spread of word-of-mouth, unlike legitimate journalists like Erik Kain).  While EA is somewhat to blame and I can't really condemn the Bioware team for phoning it in given what always happens to EA's subsidiaries, I can still say that Bioware, in their hubris, brought this on themselves.  Their last major releases have been a mediocre game and two bad games, so they've already been given far more leeway than Westwood and Bullfrog.  At this point, the best thing that any consumer can do is acknowledge that it's a lost cause and the best option is to stop financially supporting their products and inform other consumers to do the same, so that the executives can put the studio out of its misery and the creators can move on.  What's the point of offering creative criticism to people who believe that the title of "artist" grants infallibility?

Some of those arguments sound familiar...
Though I admit, if nothing else were to come of the game, this would be canon in my head.

And just to contribute something: An album of cut songs and a tribute by one of the series composers. Also: 8-bit Mass Effect.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

The arguments make the plotholes make sense. And the writer or whatever is tweeting there is surely saying that she has spoilers to those who finished the game, so that means DLC/Patch for the ending, hopefully.

I heard a rumour that the indoctrination thing was originally the plot for the game, but they couldnt get the mechanics of being indoctrinated to work so they scrapped it. Though I also heard that they scrapped it around the time the old lead writer left the studio, so I dunno. The indoctrination theory is full of its own plot holes, and seems to be case of "well i have this theory, lets make it fit!" but it's at least something, which is more than Bioware gave us.

Yeah, it's from the Final Hours (or whatever) app. They intended for there to be a section where Shepard has to fight Reaper control but they scrapped it. I don't think it had anything to do with Drew Karpyshin's (sp?) departure, though.

The main idea is that instead of indoctrinating shepard, they indoctrinated you. And if you were indoctrinated and dreaming the ending, that makes the ending plot-holess, because nothing should make sense - it's a dream anyway.

A bit off topic, but I was looking through Youtube videos of "the path not taken" for my Shepard and I saw this one, Shepard kills Mordin.

I must say. It's like watching an alien controlling your body and using it to do something completely incomprehensible.

Renegade Shepard in Mass Effect 3 pretty much completes the growing extremism of the Renegade path over the three games.

For example:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Simply put:

ME1 Renegade Shepard is ruthless.

ME2 Renegade Shepard is questionable.

ME3 Renegade Shepard is evil.

I did in fact punch the Quarian dick who tried to kill me though but yeah, I agree. He kinda goes berserk in a lot of the renegade choices in ME3. Makes sense though considering the ludicrous amount of pressure he's under.

I always punch him. I just think it's funny Shepard slugs the Quarian in the gut then tells him GTFO. XD

That was genuinely disturbing.  I think it was the first time I've seen someone else's Shepard in anything other than a still image.

The indoctrination theory has plenty of its own holes. For a start anderson mentions the timescale, which is a few weeks after you've gotten the krogan/turians or salarians, which is just the tip of the iceberg.

That said, I also don't believe Bioware can pull off a twist like that. Not anymore -manly tear-

Um... What?

Bioware might not be, but the writer just might. Also, don't forget the employee's twiters, they are hiding something and something spoilery. Also, they've mentioned that dlcs will either take place in the past or in present, no post-game expirience, which bassicaly means that they probably are doing an ending dlc, and there's a rumour it's free.
