You're only giving one reason not to like the game, and that is that you couldn't get the ending that you wanted, while the ending should be something that the writers want to be. Some like closure, some like speculation, you can't please everyone. There was a reflection of your choices in galactic readiness. It's not like they've said: "Yeah, everything you do affects the ending".

you cant make a game that was based on some exploring and lots of decision to have diferent responses and endings

Where does it say that, the bible?

It was the Jews? I knew it!

Amazingly you're the only person here who got what I'm trying to say.

So from what I've seen of videos of ME3 the dialogue tree for conversations has been broken down to two options if they even give you that, whilst a lot of the time Shepard just talks without any player control?

And I always felt the combat in a Bioware game was just there to provide a change of scenery between conversations...

"And it's your birthday, Shephard! The Krogan baked you a cake!" is one of the best lines ever.

Pretty much, yes. Choices in conversation are usually reserved for when you're deciding the fates of entire species, everything else is autodialogue. I didn't personally mind this so much, but after finishing the game all these problems I barely noticed before are popping up. ME3 as a whole could've used a lot more polishing and resolution aside from the ending, truth to be told (mainly, ME2 characters, and their romances).

Still a great game for the most part, though. And thankfully the ending only ruined it for me, so I can still enjoy the first two! Some people had it much worse.

@Pnx: Kinda annoying to see PA assume the complaints are stemming from the darkness of the ending, but yes indeed, quite funny.

Also, um, weird glitch? I killed Tali off in my current import from Mass Effect 2, right? Her name is on the memorial thing in the Normandy and everything. Yet she's all 'hey Shep glad to be back on the Normandy' and Shepard doesn't even ask 'did they Laz you too?' I don't know what the hell, I mean I killed Garrus off too and he didn't show up when he was supposed to. O.o

Edit after thinking about it: Then again this is the save file I hacked way back when so the F!Shep was romancing Ashley in ME1. Probably a side effect of that, I'd guess. ^^^;

Penny Arcade sucks. They are completely sold to the video game industry. Besides, most people aren't asking for a happy ending, but for a ending that make sense.

Most of the complaints were about the fact that the ending was gritty (as much as I've read from the user comments on gamespot, gamebanshee and here), and the ending is nonsensical depending on the person, for me it was ok in making sense.

Also, some comments from the director:

Forbes have written 4-5 fan-supporting articles about the ending and reaction already and show no signs of stopping. To me that's pretty amazing - I didn't really expect anything from them.

Here's a pretty insightful analysis of Bioware's response to the outcry by someone who works/worked in PR; http://social.bioware.com/forum/Mass-Effect-3/Mass-Effect-3-Story-and-Campaign-Discussion-Spoilers-Allowed/EABioware-in-Full-PR-Damage-Control-Mode-UPDATED-10084349-1.html

(Sorry for not url-tagging that, iPads aren't really good for that.)

Plenty of other interesting posts on the forums by published authors, scriptwriters, people 'in the biz' and whatnot too about the situation and why they believe the ending doesn't work, but threads right now get buried fast so you'd need to do some digging.

Finding out about Forbes video game articles is probobly the best thing about this whole situation. I guess this is what it feels like when actual journalists write about games!

Most of the complaints I've read are more about the ending having nothing to do with the series thematically, being badly set up and written (introducing new characters and concepts minutes before the credits), boiling down to "press A, B, or C" which the devs specifically said they wouldn't do, your choices over the past 3 games not really impacting it at all, that all the endings are basically the same, that it doesn't actually offer any closure for a series people have invested hundreds of hours and dollars into.

It's the equivalent of Return of the Jedi ending with "...and rocks fell on them and they all died."

I do agree with most of what he said, especially the parts about all of ME3 being the ending(s) we've worked for in 1 and 2. However:

I will say, that was a pretty condescending comic. Made me lose more than a little bit of respect for penny arcade right there.
