You're sent to the last area with little explanation, and for some strange reason, your companions are no where to be seen. You fight through an academy full of sith and then fight a boss then the final boss. After you defeat her, you see a short cutscene of your ship either flying into space or falling into a canyon. Nothing is explained.

Haven't read the spoilers, just finished the Mars mission. Good so far, just a little annoyed with the DLCs.

Yes- due to budget cuts (says developer Obsidian, who make a lot of sequels to RPGs, such as KOTOR 2, NWN 2, and Fallout: NV), KOTOR basically didn't have an ending at all. It just stopped. After a culminating encounter you lost contact with your party, who are scattered around a hostile (poisonous atmosphere, requires force powers to survive without a space suit) planet and might be dead. Your ship is found badly damaged and abandoned. Then you fight the final boss and SOMEHOW, you are rescued aboard your now-repaired ship (presumably, you don't actually see it) and fly away into the sunset as the planet collapses (or fall into a canyon if you were evil, dark side people suck at piloting). Many world and character/party related plot threads are left unresolved. Hell, just watch the cinema. It's so devoid of content it pretty much doesn't spoil anything. And then there were no sequels after that, no DLC, no statements- and the plot was just as involving and dynamic as Mass Effect. At least bioware hinted at more to come for ME3.

On another note, I took Taricus's advice about the Paladin and damn does this gun rock. I don't know if it's just me or what but enemies seem to sell it as hitting harder than some sniper rifles; I mean, I'm talking shoulder shots that make them corkscrew to the ground, chest shots that knock them back a yard or two on death, and decaps on a head shot. Its low ammo capacity sucks for a pistol but is pretty much on par with a SR. It's worth the 200k. :3

Multi is seriously fun - I think I might need to buy more live time as I've only got a day left. I just wish you didn't gain galactic readiness anymore, it's just rubbing it in your face.

You have a 360, DH? If so, do you want the two-day Gold trial code that came with my copy of ME3? I still have several months left, so I don't need it. ^^^ I mean, yeah, it's only two days, but better than nothing. :P

Also, I just one-shot a Phantom with the Paladin. o.O

Paladin's good and all, but real men use a Saber. Sucks that you don't get it til way late.

I've read the Black Widow is like the Viper on steroids, anyone shelled out for that yet? Also, anyone tried importing an ME3 char over again? Any bonuses? Keep all your weapons and upgrade them to rank X? Basically is there any reason to do it other than getting the last 3 levels?

And final unrelated question, anyone have an opinion on the DLC squadmate? He seems a bit... extreme, but I kinda like it, no more than I've had him around.

Haven't tried out the Saber yet, but I think I will when I get ahold of it. Same for the BW. I haven't tried New Game+ yet either, but I might with this character. Finally, DLC is pretty cool. I'm using him and James for the majority of this run (although I'm going to switch him out for Kaiden when I get him since that's the romance of the current character) and with those two having Revenants, they can lay down some awesome suppression fire while I flank and snipe. :D I like his attitude and he and James have a few humorous conversations during missions.

You know, I never saw it that way. It's not as if bioware would put DLC on the disk that you could only access if you bought the collectors edition or bought it separately, and it's not as if they were planning to release massive amounts of DLC in the future... oh wait.
