It's kind of irritating yeah. It particularly irks me how they couldn't notice such obvious bugs and especially how on earth are they going to fix it on the consoles. For PC, all we have to do is wait for patches. What about the PS3 guys or the Xbox guys? I checked and they have the exact same problems as I do. They're way more screwed. Basically means a good number of people who went a little off the beaten path in terms of quest progression can never get the best ending.

I guess I'll warn whoever hasn't started the game yet.

There's a quest called the Hanar diplomat on the Citadel. Do that ASAP. Don't leave the Citadel or even board the Normandy until you've finished that quest. Don't do anything else other than it. Also, save before you start it.

There's another one for Barla Von, also on the Citadel. Also do that ASAP. Save before you start it and complete it before anything else.

As for me, I'm personally fucked as my earlier save was at the 8th hour mark whereas I only noticed the problems with these quests now at the 18th hour mark. So for me to fix these, I'd have to replay 10 hours. And who knows if there are any more.

Origin isn't that bad.  It is less intrusive than Steam.
...

why dont you just buy the game, you know. the disk in a store?

You still have to run Origin to play it, no matter where you bought it. I've heard you even have to make an account and pay to play it, if you rent it?

Heh, I'm boned for Hanar diplomat already then. Glad I have 6 or 7 more characters to go...

Also, re: the best ending, is there any reason people who put more work in shouldn't get a better reward?

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

1 and 2 are fine. I can think of one quest in 2 that was bugged, but you could still complete it, it just didn't get flagged as complete in the logs. They don't have the draconian DRM either, and you can buy them on steam.

Yeah, I agree. I never saw what the fuss was about it. Especially after IGN put up that sensationalist article about needing to play Co-op to get 100% completion which is absolutely bull.

Have people never played RPGs before? I kinda expect this kind of thing. Especially in JRPGs where sometimes if you want the perfect ending you have to do feats of inhuman challenges. This? Pfft. This is nothing.

Now if only they would patch it...

I just don't have anything to say about this.
I guess that's what Bioware gets for catering to datesim fans. Personally I find this hillarious, because after much anticipation by these people, Tali's now a lazy photoshop job with creepy insectoid-thin arms.

Yeah, when the work they put in is a totally worthless, boring grind. It ain't a problem with doing better/worse and getting a different ending as a result, the problem is that doing all the quests good ain't enough, you have to spend/waste time either doing the online wave mode or scanning planets using one of the most boring minigames ever. I'll be playing wave mode either way, so it's not much of an issue for me, but I can see how it can be a problem to someone who wouldn't want to do that.

Well, I have one theory: Could just be trolling by Tali in context.

That's great. Whatever they did, 99% of Tali fans would have been angry with it. I like their style.

Sounds like random encounters in any JRPG to me. Final Fantasy fans seem okay with it.

The thing is that Mass Effect 3 is not a JRPG, that's why wasting time scanning planets is a pain for me. I would play Multiplayer, but the lags are too great for me. I'll just be waiting for a trainer before I finish that would increase battle readiness rating to 100%, because I've already collected half of it. I just can't see why couldn't they make it more like ME2, where choices and ship upgrades mattered, not mindless scanning all over the god damn galaxy.

It takes approximately 3 - 5 seconds to scan a planet since the scanner itself tells you where specifically things are.

It takes about 15 seconds to scan an entire system, and again, the game tells you how much you need to scan and where specifically everything is.

If there are 30 systems, it'd take about 15 minutes to scan everything in the game for 100% completion. And this is if you did it all in one sitting. If you did it on a per system basis every time you visit a new place it'd take under a minute.

I don't see the grind at all. It's about as grindy as washing a dish. =|

I don't care. I'm buying it today (Release date in AUS) and even If i have to scan 30 systems in the space of 15 minutes to DROP THE HAMMER on the reapers in an EPIC BATTLE OF DOOOOOMMMMM! Then so be it. Multi is also very cool.

For me, doing something boring for 15 minutes is grinding, it's not that I can spend my whole day on video games, having exams and stuff, so though I can't say that it's a shitty decision, it could've been better.
