Shotguns and Sniper Rifles with Boom Ammo were the greatest thing, just for reference.

The greatest.

Have you ever given Tali and Wrex the best shotguns with the best boom ammo? They rip apart enemies since they don't have to worry about cooldown. Fun times.

Look its femshep!  But, not femshep.  This one is too... prissy.  Unlike my femshep, certified grizzly arsekicker.

Edit: Actually non of them show-cased can stand up to my femshep, she is just that badass.

Demo will be out today some time, supposedly... I'm still going to be refusing to buy it if they go insane with DLC and it requires Origin, but I'm watching to see how it pans out.

Pretty sure they're keeping the Origins thing on Mass Effect 3, sadly enough.  Which is why I'm not going to buy it.  I enjoyed the Mass Effect series, really, but I'm not going to compromise my computer's security for the game :/

Origin? I'm going to illegally download the shit out of this game! (Not really, I'm going to pay $14 to play the XBox version over a weekend. Then $14 more if I don't manage it the first time).

But seriously, screw Origin. I could barely contain my Internet raeg when Battlefield 3 opened in Firefox.

It's not origin-exclusive, just the demo is.

If that's true it just means I wont buy it second hand. All my saves are on the Xbox anyway :P.

All of my saves are on Steam, so I really hope that EA gets of it's high horse and provides a Steam release. I don't even care if it's more expensive.

Looking back through the thread, I seem to be one of the few people who enjoyed both of the previous games, despite their differences. How strange  ???

I don't think that it HAS to be on steam at all, if the save exporter for ME2 is anything to go by...

I really liked both games too. I just hate the day one, mandatory, Executive Meddling DLC :P.

3 is (as I understand it, I'd love to be proven wrong) only available on Origin, but saves aren't service-specific. Which is fine, I suppose, as I will not be using Origin. Period. Shame, too, as I'd love to throw them some money, just nothing that goes in any way towards supporting that DRM style.

I enjoyed both games as well, but I really didn't miss the inventory from 1. I'd also pick focused, detailed terrain over flat dusty plain/mountain ranges in the mako any day.

Goddamit EA, I try not to hate you but you're making it very difficult.  >:(

After posting that I did some research (not GOOD research, mind you, for I am very lazy), and I found a statement from someone at EA, that didn't specifically deny it would come out on steam, ever. But it may be a hell of a wait. Frankly I'm torn over this one. I couldn't care less about the multiplayer, but I'd want the developers to be paid for their game, because I enjoy the series. But even if I buy the game but only use an eyepatch version, that's still fiscally supporting use of the Origin service too.

Of course, I could always play at a friend's place. But then my 7 playthroughs of 1 and 2 would be meaningless.

As for EA, embrace the hate. I've hated them since C&C Generals, so this is nothing new. They destroy whatever they touch.
