Wait, so #7 is a priest of armok trying to kill armok? This makes no sense. then again, it's dwarf fortress.

No no no, he was a corrupt elf agent trying to send you back to the HFS. Didn't you listen to his 5-hour monologue?

Also I believe you fight Cacame Awemedinade somewhere in there, Fight 41 I believe?

I liked the clown quest. So much magma, and pies, it was just awesome. You just need to make sure you don't get lost down there, so stick to the map.

40 actually. 41 is Ironblood and that cheap son-of-a-bitch artifact cabinet of his.

Oh dear.

I must say, this is one of the best threads I have seen in a while.

(Protip: Watch out in #27's temple. Standing on squares diagonal to the pillars causes traps to trigger.)

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

Hah, actually, that cabinet is freaking easy if you max out your musicality/social awareness at the beginning of the game. It's one of my favorite things to do; when you finally get there, and iron blood first pulls out his cabinet, you'll get a reaction that's pretty much all,

Make sure you grab a flute with considerable heft/dual-wield a mallet, otherwise you won't get that far. If you DON'T do that though, do NOT use a hammer against him. It's one of the most counter-intuitive missions in the game because he's decked out in exquisite armor. Instead, you have to wrestle that shit off first, and that's a bitch when he's pummeling you with that cabinet. Either way is possible, but if you increase your M/SA, you can increase the other attributes through training.

I just reached the Boatmurdered level. It's pretty impressive that Toady recreated a player fortress for an adventure mode quest. However, that level is a bitch. You get drafted into the militia as a quest and you actually have to survive for a month after everyone else in Boatmurdered dies. It's somewhat of a milestone for experienced players to survive with the lowest amount of wounds possible. Hell, I heard it's possible to actually SAVE Boatmurdered and get a special weapon for that.

I actually heard that you have to fight one of the fallen, corrupted avatars that came before you near #70. Is this true?

It's random. About a 5% appearance rate, which means it's very rare for a game such as DF. That avatar is one of the strongest bosses by far, but he has full avatar armor and a random avatar weapon.

I was a bit surprised, but my favorite part was when you get your first god-power. nothing is more fun than causing a pillar of magma to pop out of the ground and immolate someone. ^.^

Ah, that explains the problems I had getting past that point on my Palm III.

(And I've never heard angry mathematicians insisting that 1 is a prime.  Only insisting that it is not, based upon the non-uniqueness of factor-lists for any given product ("and a unit", which seems an arbitrary matter only to make "1" a product of an empty list and itself).  But I'm happy either way, although it obviously has implications for anything derived from Reimann's work, at the very least at the lower end of the number-line.  And Goldbach's conjecture can be revised from "even numbers higher than two" to "all even numbers", if 1 is included.  Which I suppose is at least an aesthetic argument for that approach, if not totally convincing for those that require an exclusiveness in the factors being "1 and itself" statement.)

So, when do you fight Morul? I heard that if you devour his heart you become legendary in your skill of choice.
