Maybe when he says it will be a new engine he means it will be updated and awesome? He should have said "it will not be gamebryo" to make it more solid... ?

Gamebyro is just an updated NetImmerse. It would make sense for this to use an updated Gamebyro, regardless of whether Bethesda consider the product a new engine or not.

I'm going to fall behind the assertion of the Akavir as likely antagonists, but it's been confirmed that this is a direct sequel to Oblivion, which sort of suggests otherwise.

Doesn't the trailer only show one dragon? On the otherhand, Skyrim is in the north and Akavir is southwest of Tamriel.

I don't think that is how Vampires work.

No, it's to the east. If it was to the south there wouldn't be ruined Akaviri fortresses in that hidden valley near Bruma in Oblivion.

Ever hear the phrase "you are what you eat"?

So dwarves should be turning into cat biscuits all the time?

Then they cannibalize those biscuits, becoming cannibal cat biscuits.

That would make the game even weirder, if that is even possible. Someone needs to mod that in.

Someone needs to mod that in.

Before anyone goes asking, it's not possible. May be so when night creatures are expanded, although the relevant tokens will likely be the realm of night creatures and night creatures only at that point.

That doesn't mean anything, though.  It's just a trailer.

The trailer doesn't show any humans either. The entire game will feature a dragon and a stone engraving in a cave (?)

The trailer could matter.

Now I'm confused. I'm pretty sure someone confirmed it would be the same engine. Maybe when he says it will be a new engine he means it will be updated and awesome? He should have said "it will not be gamebryo" to make it more solid... ?

Quote from: RockPaperShotgun
There was some debate over what engine the new Elder Scrolls game would be using, and all signs seemed to point to GameBryo. However, writing on Twitter earlier today, Bethesda Softworks community manager Nick Breckon said: “We can now confirm that the TES V: Skyrim engine is all-new. And it looks fantastic.” I asked him what “new” means in this case, and whether it was simply a new version of the Gamebryo engine that powered Oblivion and the recent Fallout games. He responded: “It’s a new graphics/gameplay engine built internally. We’ll have more details down the road.”

Now I'm pretty curious, mainly about 'new gameplay' engine than 'graphics' engine.

I'm happy with that as long as it doesn't become less mod-able. Which of course would be an enormous letdown.

If we're lucky, they'll fix the construction set.
