Spoiler: A bit of foreshadowing (click to show/hide)
Yes, I am taking a long time on this next set of updates. Yes, I am having a blast doing so. Yes, that is a sword.

I'd post the rest of the update but I'm only half way through the actual dialogue part and I need to get some sleep tonight. Or morning, if you want to get technical.

For added Funtm, there will be no map of this area. Instead, you get all the suspense!

Yes, the GOODS are what you think they are, as long as you think that the GOODS are illegal drugs.

Really? They're showing up just fine on my side.

@Barbarossa: Keep that Slakoth in your team and evolve it to Vigaroth, it's a good attacker.

So did Boudica just get one-shot, or what?

The first game does this with Viridian Forest too.  Perhaps there's an alternate path that bypasses the forest and that's why its' one route.

That's what you think, but it's not over yet!

All will be explained later today in Update 07: The City of Glass and Steel

EDIT: Oh yeah, and none of the game up to Mauville (The third gym) is actually changeable. I need to catch up to myself in updates before I can take suggestions. Unfortunately, I already traded in Gerald for a Makuhita, thinking that it would help against Roxanne.

Quite sad that this died. I'm sure it was a pain to update, but still.

It is lost, but not forgotten. In the shadows, I work quickly and stealthily to obtain writing time. The only problem is time. I am still interested in completing this thread, it's just that college just started and I have finals in my high school classes. I'm averaging two essays a week in addition to the daily work from both schools.

I'll be back.

I can't come back to this game. I can and will, however, attempt this again with Pokemon Black when I acquire it this coming March. It'll be way more fun when I don't know the story, denizens, or geography of the region. Together we shall triumph over the unknown and slay all who oppose us!

It probably stemmed from starting the Let's Play when I was already pretty far into the game. Without participation, there really wasn't much to it. Good practice for later, though. I have actually been working on beating the game, but I know the story too well to make an AAR interesting.

Unova, though. We will have a mighty quest there.

If anybody cares to know, I'm currently training to fight Wallace at the Sootopolis gym, my team mainly consists of water Pokemon from the various sea routes, and things are getting difficult. So far, here's the account.

What was that deal with Boudica kind of passing out or something that would be revealed later, anyway?

Also, what killed your Alakhazam and Tentacool?

Finally, why do you have a Magikarp named Gary, why do you have both a Magikarp and a Gyrados, and did you really name a Magikarp Asmodeus.

...

Also, Magnum PI. That's less of a pun than I thought when I first saw it, but I'm still curious what happened there too.

Boudica was at 1 HP and asleep, so it was more of a coma. They were healed in Rustboro.

Tentacool - I forget. It was something stupid, I'm sure. Probably a fight with a grass type.

Kadabra - This was really unfortunate. Maelrigar died during the epic battle between myself and Maxie. He was stuck in battle with Maxie's (dark type) Mightyena, and while he held out for a long while, eventually he fell before Menelaus used Revenge to get revenge.

I caught the Magikarp in Petalburg when I returned to face my father, but it died right before I could evolve it into a GARYdos. The Gyarados has actually saved my ass as of late. I had just beaten Maxie, and most of my good pokemon were dead. I was basically just letting Boudica and Menelaus carry the fights, because none of my other pokemon could do shit. I started fishing in Sootopolis to see if I could get a shiny magikarp, because I had a lot of waiting to do in an airport terminal. I didn't count the magikarp as pokemon, either. It'd ruin the point of fishing. After a couple hundred magikarp, all levels 15-30, I'm attacked by a level 38 shiny Gyarados. Sure, everyone has one from the lake of rage in Johto. But now I have myself a legitimate one. I used my master ball on it, so Groudon was kind of hard to catch. Anyway, it slew Okoto the grumpig before I remembered my master ball, but I had at least put it to sleep.

Magnum PI was the Magnemite I found in New Mauville, and he was kicking ass all the way to Fortree. Flying pokemon and water pokemon died in droves before him. I figured that once I got to the ocean it'd be smooth sailing. He shot from level 18 to 32 in under an hour, and I thought I was prepared for the battle with Winona. Round one, he Thunderbolts their Swellow out of the sky. Round three, their Pelipper chokes on Thunder. Round three, and Winona sends out her Altaria. Unbeknownst to me, Altaria had Earthquake, which was 4x effective against Magnum. It was also faster. Why must the good die young?

If you want to know about any of the others, I'll probably remember. It's been a memorable journey.
