Why don't tree's catch fire from magma?
« on: December 12, 2010, 12:31:55 am »

Alright, using the default init files in adventure mode magma won't set my aboveground trees eg oak, ash etc. On fire and fire won't spread either. Is this normal?

Yeah, trees don't currently catch alight from nearby fires, although you can light them directly in Adventure. Eventually that should change, but considering how minor it is, it might be a while.

Trees don't catch fire from magma because they don't catch fire from magma yet.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Worst edit ever: Also, fires not spreading in Adv mode is normal. Can't normally tell, though, with all the smoke.

I think Adventure mode fire not spreading is because it uses the same time scale as Fortress or something, so it actually takes forever to do anything. You would have to camp out for many hours/days next to it without travelling away to see it come to fruition.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"
