I.: How is damage for misc. Objects calculated? I know edged works via shear values, blunt mostly a density and a few impact values, but what is it for misc. objects? Mass alone, or is there more to it?

II.: I need a complete list of trigger-to-effect delays for floodgates, doors, bridges, hatches and them all.

III.: Is Soap made with fat or with tallow?

IV.: The Liaison wants me to establish my fort as an official colony, or some such. What reasons would I have for agreeing or disagreeing, and what qualities make a suitable recommendation?

V.: I have a 4x4 embark, all caverns and magma sea breached, 90 dorfs, and approximately 45 FPS. How does that compare to yours?

I: Mass is probably the relevant value. All Misc. Objects should deal blunt damage.
II: I'd need you to give a list of objects, but in general they have either a 100-step delay or no delay at all. Floodgates and bridges are 100, doors are 0, and I'm pretty sure hatches are also 0.
III: Tallow.
IV: I'm pretty sure this makes you into a barony. You'll get extra demands and mandates, and need to provide a noble room. On the other hand, it's a dedicated dwarf for meetings, so you won't need to free up whichever dwarf usually has that responsibility. A DWARF MUST BE CONSCIOUS TO ENGAGE IN A MEETING.
V: That's a pretty similar frame rate to what I'd experience.

1. Urist McLegendarymechanic thinks it's a good idea to get his fellow dwarf corpse in the middle of an ambush. In the unit screen he is listed as having no job but still walks towards his inevitable death. He was assigned to a burrow, but he simply dont obey. It'sa bug? Any way to solve this? Yes, he already passed all door or bridges I can close.

2. Goblin siege. The goblin general, which is a human, appears in person to lead the siege, mounted in a giant rat, as all other goblins, to personally lead the siege. The goblins kill the general, his mount, and another goblin, then ran off the map, leaving only a few trolls behind to be slaughtered. The general disappeared from the goblin (c)ivilization screen. He appeared as an invader in the (u)nits screen. All ambushs arrive with a human, he appears as a invader in the units screen. The goblins attack, revealing the ambush, kill him and them leave. Is this a bug?

1. Might have alarm settings override the burrow settings.

Yea, for some reason Goblin invaders assume all non-goblins are enemies right now, including their commanders.

A man would see that as a difficult challenge.
An elf would see that and despair.
A dwarf would see that and say, "Bring it on."

1. He didn't obey the alarm burrow.I tried to make him go to the alarm burrow by assignin him manually to the burrow, he didn't obey. I will try deactivating the alarm status and see if he goes to the assigned burrow.

2. Thanks a lot!

Draft him and order him to defend a burrow.

I had all three caverns breached on a 4x4 embark, 208 dwarves, ~450 animals, untold amounts of invaders and I had ~40 FPS.

Good idea! Thank you both for the ideas!

I have all three caverns plus magma sea breached, 87 dwarves, 22 animals, untold amounts of deceased anything, no goblins (I think I may be either seperated from their civ or a long way from them), 4x4 embark, and anywhere from 15 to 30 FPS.

VI.: What's Gnomeblight?

VII.: Do green glass blocks, tubes and corkscrews make for magma-safe pumps?

Gnomeblight is a poison/syndrome that only effects dark gnomes and mountain gnomes.

I know for a fact glass is magma-proof, but I don't know if you can make corkscrews and pipes out of them.

You can. I have a whole pump stack made entirely out of glass. Though glass pipes are called tubes

VI.: What's Gnomeblight?
Can be bought in barrels, and I think it was part of an experiment with applying poisons to weapons, but the code was never finished, so it's a useless remnant. Several types of venom and liquid fire can be extracted or bought, but have no purpose.

Same thing with Golden Salve, which was supposed to work as a medicine but never got completed and is also a useless remnant.

They do, as long as magma does not submerge the pump.  Pumps actually teleport the liquid from one end to another, so the melting point of the components doesn't matter.  Yes, that means you could use wooden pumps to pump magma.  However, if magma was to flow over the pump, it would melt.
