One is given a choice between a male or female robot, then. Simple.

Pat down, absolutely. I don't know if they do store the scanned images, but there is definitely a way. You can't store a pat-down. Besides, I am a prankster at heart.

I believe that I read somewhere that the scanners are required to be able to do this, and that the TSA claims that it can't store images, while in fact, they can, just not with the default settings.

Nothing gets by you... way to late indeed. :P

They shouldn't get stored normally. But I remember a fluke incident that a couple thousand(?) images where saved and send back to the manufacturer of the devices for any number of reasons. Quality control maybe :P I would dig up a link, but it's 3am now... Use your google-fu, as it's strong :P

You can't store a pat-down.

That is solely because virtual reality isn't sufficiently advanced. Give it time, someone will figure it out.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Interesting reading. I'd rather be pulled aside due to my passport looking suspicious than go through the body scanner or get groped by a TSA official.

I've also heard that they have plans to make an enclosed metal booth for you to go through at their security checkpoints. The device would detonate any explosive device on your person when you enter it, I'm not sure where I heard that, so don't quote me, but that seems like a good idea.

Arguably, that's superior to what we have.

That depends on how sturdy the booth was.

1. Man enters exploding room.
2. Man forgets he is still wearing his cell phone
3. Man explodes.

Never seen a real pat-down actually take place. Airports here, the security guys have this stick that looks like a big file and they wave it around you too see if it beeps. No hands-on involved.

3. Man explodes.

I've never heard of a cell phone being referred to as an explosive device, but I'm willing to keep an open mind. Besides, how much harm could a cell phone cause if it exploded? If it could explode.

The booth sends out a signal, which would presumably be picked up by an explosive device and then said device would carry out it's primary function (i.e. explode) Some may call it inhumane, but if they were going to blow themselves up anyways, I think it's a win-win situation.

(if you're kidding, then regard this entire post. I'm not good at this intertubes stuff :()
