I can imagine, normal pat downs are bad enough. These guys/galls wanna do something that should cost them a dinner and a movie at least.

I would just get scanned, except It just seems wrong to me anymore. It's a huge violation of privacy, the scans are not perfectly secure from theft or secret sharing, and then you hear stories like Adam savage getting through with 12" long razorblades. That's not secure by any means, and it's just... wrong even if it were secure.

More then one security agency/expert has mentioned that indeed the scans are all but perfect. Some experts mentioned that if a thin sheet of a certain explosive material would be tightly wrapped around the body it would not show up. I can't see why anyone would freak out about a patdown, bouncers at clubs do it all the time and it doesn't bother anyone there. InstantCancer^TM, on the other hand...

I've never seen that happen in a club. In fact, I'd simply leave if it came to that, even more likely than if it was at an airport. Because if I'm reluctant to let the airport security touch me, you can bet there's no way in hell I'm letting some disco's hired goon do it.

The scan. I'll happily see the people working bleed their eyes out "do I really have to watch that ? " and added radiation might mean random mutation ! Seriously, I might be weird, I just don't care.

Besides, I've always liked airports anyways, even with the random idiocy you'll always see there (I've seen weird things everywhere really, from Gaborone to Paris, airports makes security people nuts) and I'll gladly live through that just to sit a few hours in one of those gigantic white-and-glass halls.

Pat down. The radiation dosage they claim the back-scatter devices is an averaged measurement for all tissue, whereas in reality different tissues absorb radiation differently IE the skin absorbs a lot more than they'd probably like to admit. Sure I get exposed in flight to radiation, but it's not targeting my epidermis specifically.

Besides, a couple of well timed suggestive and creepy comments during my pat down quickly turns the tables from embarrassingly humiliating for me to reasons why the TSA agents should quit their jobs. They can't keep this up if I can get their employees to refuse to work.

If you refuse the patdown or the scan, not only do they deny you your flight, they can actually fine you up to $11,000

I applied for a TSA officer position, and never heard of these machines. As far as I understand, you inspect luggage, pat people down, and use the detect-o rod on them.

Pat-downs are of the same gender. That's why they need an equal amount of men and women for the job.
