I have a simpler solution. Trains, buses and boats. I enjoy flying, but this is just a blatant disregard of people's right to privacy. Trains and buses don't even bother with a screening process, boats are the only travel method I haven't used, but as long as I'm not stuck on a broken-down cruise ship, I don't really care.

If you want a little revenge on the TSA people, "forget" something prohibited on the bottom of your hand luggage (like a toothpaste tube or scissors), and stuff all your dirty underwear on top of it. I would just get scanned, except It just seems wrong to me anymore. It's a huge violation of privacy, the scans are not perfectly secure from theft or secret sharing, and then you hear stories like Adam savage getting through with 12" long razorblades. That's not secure by any means, and it's just... wrong even if it were secure.

A scientist who felt the TSA is really a  bunch of idiots actually made their scan fail by walking through with literally pounds of C4 strapped to him and the scan didn't picked it up.

I don't think it's an ordinary pat down.  As I understand it, the new pat down procedure is very gropey.
