Kobold bones usually find their way into my craftsdwarves' workshops within 6 months of the kobold's dismemberment.

I've seen the kittens always give just skull behavior. What I found was that cats only give skulls as well--- unless my butcher had an above average skill. So it seems that a skilled butcher does better at bone yeilds than a poorly skilled butcher.

I've seen butchers turn severed limbs into bones from sentients. But never a full corpse.

I have seen a few goblin corpses rot into purely bones. But it took a very long time (over 10 years). When they became just a goblin skull and goblin bones, then my dwarves would use them for bonecraft. Prior to that, they wouldn't mess with them. That was back in 31.12, IIRC. Hadn't seen it in the more recent versions but I haven't ran a fort for more than 10 years after goblins start paying me attention (I make new worlds with each new version, and I've been busy with other things so I haven't been getting in a lot of DF time lately).

learn to give consolations to frustrated people
What is this, a therapy session? We don't need to console someone because they're upset about a fucking video game. Grow a beard, son, and take off those elf ears!
