I assume that you do not know of Warhammer 40k, the table top game?
That is the origin of it all.

Medicore hack and slash shooter, much prefer tabletop - even if matt ward runs it into the ground so hard it turns into diamonds.

But yeah, I hope to god they do chaos decent with their next codex, it's amazing when a book is so bland that even the ultramarines space marine chapter is considered to be above it.

What do you mean? Ultramarines are the best chapter out there!

fixed that for you.
One thing I will give them man: he's actually done some decent rules. His fluff needs a hell of a lot more work though, and seriously who the hell designed the dread knight model?

You know how Star Wars has the movie canon, and then all the stuff that you could argue is or isn't canon, like the multitude of books written after the movies?

40k has the same thing, except all the books are 100% vetted and authorized for their canon-ness by Games Workshop, and they're usually written by full-time employees not contributors (any more.) So the amount of minutiae out there for 40k is e-fucking-normous. The actual ballistic characteristics of a bolter shell is just a small example. Did you know Space Marines can spit poison? :P A lot of people don't, because they stopped talking about that absurd little bit of fluff in the table top rules. Yet it lives on, with about a dozen other things, in the fiction and so it's canon.

Compared to most other topic nerds, 40kers put them to shame. It sucks GWS killed off the Black Library, I used to have some fascinating debates over there.

Well, the fists and their successor chapters can't, but did you know that life sucks horribly for the Lamenters?

Chapter #3754? Let me guess, their primarch was all emo and used to cut himself as a kid growing up, so now they all ritually cut themselves and whine about how bad things are? :P

That label tends to get reserved for Lyon El'Johnson, but Sanguinius IS the patron primarch of goths and vampire wannabees. And the whole Blood Angel philosophy is pretty emo. That they're a BA successor chapter just kind of confirms it :P

the controls are just to messy and everything becomes a clusterfuck two second in the skirmish.

Lamenters cry too much.  If everything's so bad they should just go to chaos.

I think my characters will be...

Loyalist:

Imperial Fists (Tac/Devastator)
Crimson Fists (Tac/Devastator)
Blood Angels Death Company (Assault)
Black Templars (Assault)
Dunno, Space Marines are boring

Chaaaoooos:

Night Lords (Raptor)
Thousand Sons (Regular)
Death Guard (Havoc)
Emperor's Children (Regular)
Sons of Malice (Whichever)

Caaaaaan't waaaaaaait

I'll be rolling
Salamanders Devestator
Emperor's Nightmare tactical (yes, i will have to make it from scratch)
Angry Marine/Raven guard assault depending on mood

For chaos
Night lords raptor
Iron warrior havoc
red corsair marine

However while he does do decent rules, he needs to stay away from fantasy. His Chaos Daemons for fantasy was so horridly broken they designed 8th edition just to nerf them (Of course if they actually updated books at a decent rate or just FIXED THE DAMN ISSUES it might not have been so bad)

But matt ward needs to stop writing fluff, that much is true XD

I'd go though

Chaos:
Death Guard: Normal
Emporers Children: Devestator (If they have sonic cannons, just yay, if not the heavy bolter'll will do)

On the topic of the fantasy, those new vampires are less interesting than the old ones. The Strigoi now have wings, are called Varghulfs and can be on good terms with the other vampires? Why was this necessary, the ghoul-king, animalistic, gypsy vampires didn't need fixing.

OT: Still unsure whether to get this, is it just your squad or are you in battles?
