So we've got three days left, and they've shown a video of the multiplayer customization options.  Pretty badass, but we'll have to see if the gameplay makes the customization worthwhile.

It looks like there's a bunch of chapter/legion/warband/whatever presets and from there you can customize each piece of armor (So you can pick two different pauldrons, two different leg armors, etc, one for each leg.  Looks like there's around ten "themes" and you can mix and match among them, most of them are pretty cool.  Then there's colors and stuff, overall it looks like there'll be a huge amount of variation but you have to level up to get everything (Have I mentioned how much I hate when multiplayer shooters pretend to be mmorpgs?)  Oh well, it'll be cool.

The preorder bonuses aren't customizable though, which sucks.  They're just full skins.  Steam's preorder bonus is blood ravens, which look boring.  Best Buy gets Emperor's Children and Iron Warriors, both of which look awesome and Steam got ripped off.  You still have the color scheme presets for the chapters you didn't get, but the preorder skins have all kinds of macguffins and such.  Wolf Wolves skin has wolf wolf trophies and such, Black Templars skin has the tabard, etc.

Also, the bolters are done right.  If you watch in slow motion the bolt goes in and then there's an explosion a split-second later.

I still don't remember every boltgun, including the pistol, just being a smaller Heavy Bolter though.

The Bolt Pistol, Boltgun and Storm Bolter all piss out ammo at about the rate a Heavy Bolter is supposed to (Well, the Bolt Pistol is semi auto, but the other two..)

IIRC, they don't generally carry that much ammo and they're usually on burst fire.

I know Full Auto is still possible on them, but I doubt a Space Marine would waste that much ammo.

Dawn of War 2's bolters seemed a little more accurate, the ones here seem to just be there because they wanted a Standard Assault Rifle weapon.

Well, a boltgun can fire 2 shots per round (rapid fire weapon), a heavy bolter fires slightly faster at 3 shots per round, and a storm bolter has the same rate of fire as a boltgun.

So it's quite accurate.

In the fluff bolters fire four shots in a burst, and I'm pretty sure they don't have a full auto setting.

Burst fire is annoying though, and I'm willing to let that part of the fluff slide for the sake of gameplay.

Before we go any further, we should probably clear up what fluff exactly. the BL is not consistent at all.

I suppose I can let the Bolter thing slide as long as I don't see any Sorcerors of Khorne.

It's an Undivided Warband so I doubt we will.

Khorne kinda sucks.  I mean yeah, berzerkers are badass and stuff, but improved close combat ability does not make up for losing psyker powers.  I mentioned in the SM forum and I'll say it here, a Tzeentch DP with Warptime and Winds of Chaos is pretty much a million times better at close combat than a Khorne DP.

I know nothing about the Warhammer 40k Universe, but...The demo was fun.

And I killed Orks. (Is it Warhammer 40k where you spell Orks with a k?)

of course, Khorne has possibly the biggest following so he can win through numbers if necessary.

Also, Kal Draigo has supposedly killed demon primarchs in the fluff but loses to Abbaddon 9/10 times on the tabletop so.....

I was more referring to the part where Khorne hates Psykers and there was pretty much no such thing as Khornate Psykers and yet there's been one in every Relic 40k game to date.

(Also there no Relic 40k game ever had followers of one Chaos God fight followers of another Chaos God, where's all the infighting?!)

You are referring to the craptastic 3.5 Black Legion Codex. In the original 3.0 dex Khorne used to be Much stronger with Khornate axes that lessened your armour save by -1, and ability to block psyker abilities from working on khorne troops (Khorne collars for note). And they used to have FEEL NO PAIN

The current codex is horrible for chaos, and everyone knows it.

Damn straight, Though nurgles effects were funny back than, one handed bolters anyone? XD

But yeah, I hope to god they do chaos decent with their next codex, it's amazing when a book is so bland that even the ultramarines space marine chapter is considered to be above it.
