I think it'll be fun.  I'm hoping the multiplayer will be cool, but I don't think it will be hugely active for more than 6 months or so after release.

What worries me is the Chaos Marines.  Are they just going to be enemies like orcs?  That'll make me mad.  The average Chaos Marine is supposed to be significantly better than the average Space Marine.  The whole Eye of Terror thing means a lot of Chaos Marines have been around for 10,000 years or more.

Also, I agree about how they could've made the combat more interesting by using all of the Space Marine's fancy implants.  Maybe some kind of Splatterhouse-style thing where you keep going after having holes blown in you and limbs ripped off, but then again how do you heal after that?

Also yeah, what's with that baby lascannon?  Maybe he stole it from the Imperial Guard.

I haven't checked up lately, but last I knew this was totally a SP affair. Maybe co-op? But it's not going to have any sort of MP component.

I saw some cultists in there too, but yeah, this is where game play balance butts up against the fluff. If you can blow apart a Chaos Marine with a plasma gun in 4 shots, arguably, he'd be doing the same to you. Every game company over uses Chaos Marines (and Space Marines) and has to dilute their potency because of it. I'm fine with tearing Grots and even Boyz limb from limb. Chaos Marines? That just doesn't sound right.

****, I'd go for that and just die and respawn with all my limbs at the last check point. Nothing says Space Marine like fighting on through ghastly injuries that would have left a normal person shitting themselves.

As for the las cannon, it's the MKXXV PUSSI-Configuration.

I'm with Cthulhu on CSM, i am yet to see a videogame where they are properly and insanely dangerous not just cannon fodder for whatever race we are currently playing as.That said, jumping on someones face with a jetpack while wearing half a ton of armor and wielding a powered warhammer has always been a dream of mine so i expect this to be properly awesome :D

I saw an interview with one of the dudes... He said a 10 hours campaign was a lengthy one... I removed it from my wishlist right there.

You know he wouldn't try to pull that shit if the Emperor were still walking around.

The Steam page has 8 vs. 8 multiplayer in its features list.  Looks pretty typical, though, Spuss Mehrens versus Khayos Mehrens in class-based combat.

I really don't like Space Marines, and I hate UltraMarines, but I'm still going to get this game.
No true 40k fan would pass up the chance to play as anything 40k on a current-gen console.
Now, outside of a coma, whats the fastest time to get to the release date?
Also, if I pre-order for Xbox, do I get the Bluhd Rayvehns pack as well?

That is probably a Steam deal, but check what Gamestop is offering.

Because you're playing the good guys.

Also Khorne's boring and sucks in the tabletop.

Also also like Nenjin said they don't break out the serious fluff for several games, don't want to scare people off.  Look how long it took Dawn of War to have super srs Chaos.

So I looked it up, and if you pre-order from Amazon, you get a golden chain-sword, if you pre-order from Walmart (Maybe Best Buy, I've heard from both), you get a golden bolter, and if you pre-order from Best Buy (maybe, only if you don't get the bolter from WalMart) or Game Stop, you get the armor skins.

I'm thinking of getting it from Amazon, because I have $10 off or something from pre-ordering Brink.

That said, wtf is with how small that las cannon is? Space Marines are not 15 feet tall. That las cannon looks like a las rifle in his hands.

You talking about in the Dev Diary 2? If so, that is a Las Rifle, not a Las Cannon. Probably taken from a fallen Imperial Guardsmen, like Cthulhu said.

Centration. Similar to Spacestation 13, but in 3D and first-person. Sounds damn awesome.
