Chain Length
« on: December 09, 2010, 07:23:17 pm »

I have a chained puppy in my courtyard to watch for ambushes and theives/snatchers. I'm wondering if the chain is supposed to be this long :

P.S : My FPS went down, I'm suspecting ambush, stationed soldiers outside.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Did you accidentally deconstruct the restraint while the animal was still restrained?  It looks to me like your puppy is wandering freely, with a glitched decorative collar.

It shouldn't be that long; chains and other restraints are supposed to restrict the creature to just the tiles immediately adjacent to the restraint.

However, this might also be a case of you having accidentally deconstructed a chain previously without detaching the animal first. That results in the chain item hanging off the animal until the chain is dumped or the animal dies. I don't recall if you can link levers to restraints, but if you can, I think that has the same effect. If one of these is the cause of this, that simply means that that puppy is A) not the one getting put near your bridge or B) hasn't been put near your bridge yet.

I think it was because I had ordered him to be butchered. *Facepalm* Anyway, a new dog is there.
