Just leave buoancy out for now because buoancy weight and all this other stuff the computer has to calculate will do some major slowdown on the game we shouldnt worry about them yet just the vehicles

Hmmm... if handled cleverly, I really don't see how it would be a problem (there are some good ideas for this in the thread I linked earlier).  Actually, the calculations would be pretty straight forward and trivial, as I would imagine such values would only have to be calculated in special cases (i.e. upon creation of vehicle, change in density of water/magma or vehicle, etc.), and would only be one of the millions of calculations the processor is capable of per second.  The things I think are the biggest slow down in the game are pathfinding and any sort of calculation that involves a very multi-factorial value-judgement sort of thing that has to be updated constantly.  Buoyancy doesn't fit the bill.  I could be wrong.

Hmmm... the addition of tiles to make this work might make this problematic, no?... unless there is a provision in the game coding for partial occupation of a tile.  Hmmm...

well the tiles would be impassable and weigh nothing. potentially. I've got no other ideas so far.

or we could limit ourselves to 90 degree turns... not too happy...

The limitations of the game may be such that perpendicular turning may be the only turning. I'm not really sure that diagonals are truly needed.

well anyways I guess they should do it then. you would build parts (walls floors etc), when a floor's built it "latches on" to nearby vehicle/boat parts and the parts "connect" and form a single object/collection in memory. at least I can't find anyone against it...

now the vote is whether land and sea vehicle parts are the same. Possible pros/cons:

• + Amphibious vehicles
• + Easier to program/manage
• + etc.
• - not too realistic
• - could be too much freedom
• - etc.
