They could presumably give the game a single one time fee and then generate further revenue by selling hats.

It's kind of funny.  I used to think that TR was was team players, NC was for wannabe leetxors, and VS was just for the rejects.  Then I found Azure Twilight.

Hands down the TR were the underdogs of the entire game. Not because of their equipment, but their playstyle. Remember the TR zerg rushes? Just crossing a continant on foot because our weapons let us... and then get mowed down by a tank platoon.

admittely they did have the best vechs (3 seater tanks and assault buggies), the striker... now _that_ was an AV weapon and a half, amazingly easy to kill MAXes, especially flying fishhead ones. Also, they had the best colour scheme, ever seen a TR magrider or vangaurd? Its the sex.

I myself dedicated to piloting gals, they are my favourite vehicle ever... had the silver hotdrop medal aswell.

Well, I can't confirm a release window or anything. But I do know that SOE has a Planetside team and is working on Planetside next. I've even seen some of the new vehicle models for it. Pretty good looking!

If they go sub (like they should) and want to put some free to play option in there, that's the only way to do it Tanks are damn cool, so if you can pilot them, doubt they'd get as many paying people

Remember, there hasn't been an serious game graphics upgrades since Crisis.

I think this one'll be fine if you can run a source game a-ok... but this is me just speculating.

Also, on the topic of the F2P thing, they did do something like that for planetside, the something something... I forget the name, where you could play for free up to BR6, CR2. It was hillarious good fun being a veteran and having all those noobs to kill/command to their deaths.

Hmm, if this is F2P then I'd probably be down to be one of the nameless infantry being run over by tanks and being blown up by aeroplanes. I never played Planetside but heard good things about it. Also, FPS + MMO sounds pretty cool if it's done right. I used to play Dark Age of Camelot and I imagine a functional FPS game similar to that would be sweet. Add in vehicle and hot damn.

Also waiting on that WW2 MMO FPS to become free to play to give that a shot.
