I think the usually, AT, AA, AI. I don't think there's much released about it.

But what I do know, is that you can use vehicle chassis and change the main gun to different things aswell. So, a magrider chassis, with a AA main gun and AI for some death to infantry action.

They better not fuck that up, at least give an option to hand over the main gun controls to the gunner. Because this pisses me off.

against the argument that the players should just trust SOE. The official line is that the new system is necessary for the sidegrade perk system, but I don't see why they just couldn't have driver perks and certs for the driver and gunner certs and perks for the gunner.

I always see this "counter argument" and that trust is almost always misplaced. If it sounds stupid on paper the chances are that it's stupid in practice as well.

Being a free to play game, I think I can just about trust SOE with the amount of money I'll spend to find out for sure whether it's good.

In Planetside (one) you were able to play with about 500 other ppl. That is pretty remarkable. Besides, the first one had a heavy emphasis on teamwork and strategy so there is hope that the second one will atleast contain some of those elements.

Planetside isn't just about shooting, it's about ops. Things like having a Galaxy fly your squad over the enemy base to take out the power generator, sneaking past an enemy position following a distraction, etc. Combined arms and teamwork are the name of the game, with a constant war to participate in, where battles could last an hour or days.
Of course, that's assuming that Planetside 2 is on the same level as Planetside 1, which is probable though not certain.

There's some real stuff behind the marketing bs.
"We don't have upgrades, we have sidegrades". Sounds corny, but effectiveness being playerskillbased instead of "level up" based is so good to see in an mmo...
