OP:  Do you have any pathing designations with restricted value around the workshop?

------------
That is not how the original Plane Packed was made, because it was before burrows were implemented.

And that is saying that.

It's interesting you blew up like that.

Bay12, where in a game that produces many artifacts a day, each and every one is cataloged for its dwarfiness.

I have an impression that Toady took care about that Planepacked thing. I've tried the 31.xx recipe for it and after obtaining full page of resources  dwarves were creating ordinary items without any decorations.

Funny you should say that. Considering you're the one pushing an argument of semantics and whining about people posting images (have you seen what forum this is?) it seemed pretty clear that you were the asshole, and that Hellman was just forgoing the niceties in dealing with someone who was acting like a pain in the ass.

Your assumption of whining made me think.  So I re-read his post in multiple tones of voice: standard, crazy, monotone.

It's possible that I misinterpreted his intentions.  It seemed like he was gaining enjoyment from ignoring the extremely close nature of the usual causes for the problem to prove someone wrong, and waving a 1/4screen flag proclaiming he's awesome.

It's more likely that he got pissed I classified his statements "dumb".  At least I hope it wasn't what I said before that, or he really is a jerk.

So, I'll side with you guys for now and say I'm the ass.

I did try to be polite, failing at the dumb part.

P.S. I find kenny fried chicken hilarious.

Any updates from the OP? I want to see how this turns out. If I'm understanding what happened right, the materials the dwarf wanted were on the map, but due to a raised bridge the dwarf couldn't path to them, so he's just piling up the cloth in that workshop while he waits to be able to path to the other materials?

A man would see that as a difficult challenge.
An elf would see that and despair.
A dwarf would see that and say, "Bring it on."

Ok, OP there, as promised. Just got a bit of free time, so no updates about the game, sorry.
Answering the questions, i don't have any restricted area over/near the workshop or the materials. Only a hospital overlaps with it. May it works at some sort of burrow/stockpile for cloth and the dwarf is doing something like "gonna use this precios cloth... I'll put it there! Oh noez, it belongs to our hospital! Let's get more!" in an infinite loop?
And he can path to everything, but the closed drawbridge only prevents her to go outside... Where it wasn't any useful material... Until the dwarven merchants that died, and now she is taking(not stealing) their cloth. The weirdest thing about this behaviour, is that the merchant's clothes that she is taking right now, weren't on the map when she got possessed (btw the mood started more than a year ago, i think, i was not paying attention until i saw the epic amount of clothes she was using) So I will try making some cloth on my own, just to see if she takes it too. And then i will érase the hospital. And will try to post the result this afternoon!

Hmmm. Try checking the hospital zone to see if it says it has 5 million cloth units?
I'd think the next test step would be to try removing the zone designation over just the workshop and see if that works.

News: she STOPPED. Gathered 249 pieces of cloth. It was not the hospital. It was not the burrows. There's still some cloth around, of every type. She's demanding thread, OK; bones, easy; metal bars...fine pewter?? i hate her
Now i'm really surprised. Didn't planepacked-esque moods gather every piece of material available to them?
I'm making fine pewter like a maniac, i'll post the results

It was only massive amounts of the first material needed, ie rock, or in your case, cloth.

Also, "cloth... thread..." means cloth. Thread is never used for moods.

She started doing the thing. 252 pieces of cloth (she needed some rope reed), 16 cow bones, iron bars.
It appears to be non-bugged, at least as I am trying to understand te reasons behind the usage of that amount of cloth
Well... I'm expecting a quantum sock or something unuseful but awesome..
I'll post images whenever i get the point of Impr pet sist...

IT. IS DONE.
A MASTERFUL PIG TAIL FIBER HOOD
It's called Kenganur, "the steamy wonders"...fitting
It menaces with spikes of pig tail, rope reed, cow bone and iron.
It has nearly the whole story of my world.
There are 41 images of itself
There are images of dwarves beating elves.
There are images of plump helmets.
There are images of goblins butchering some dwarves in my fortress.
It has the image of an ettin smashing the finger of one dwarf.
There are pictures of elves dyeing. A LOT
It has an image of dwarves raiding a town. By the 1110th time.
It shows the image of a guy surrounded by crutches.
It is worth 620320 Dwarfbucks.
It weighs less than one Urist.
This is Dwarf Fortress.
