This whole think spiraled out of control and I see no reason to stay here.

Gentleman. Goodbye.
Dramatic much. You didn't need to make a post. Geez. Even after you said that you would be leaving.

No. He had to. It's on the bingo card. ;)

I just want to tell you both good luck. We're all counting on you.

For those interested in Assange, he has just changed his theory on the two women. Rather than them being CIA agents, he believes that when they found out that they had both had sex with him, they were afraid that he had given them an STD, and went to the police to get advice on what to do. The police then tricked the women into reporting him.

That's the police version too.
More exactly, the police officier realized that there was a crime even if no formal complain has been made.
I'm not even sure there has been one today.

Last I heard, one of the girls had left Sweden, and wasn't even cooperating with the case anymore.

The funniest part is that Assange is in a position to openly request condom-free sex and a lot of women and some men will gladly oblige him.

Probably because of the massive attacks on their reputations they've received since bringing up the case.

I can't wait to see interpol approach the Haliburton "dancing boy" cases with the same frevor as this international inquery about Assange's contraceptive use.

That said, Assange is definitely a high-grade Saline Solution Packet and no doubt about it, but the important thing is that he's our Saline Solution Packet, and being one is not a war crime, and nor is journalism about actual war crimes.

I still feel that if we are sure the rule of law will be upheld, he should be tried, and if guilty, face the same punishment as anyone else. I'm just uncertain that he will make it out of the british prison system without falling down some stairs, even if the prison is only on one floor.

I think he (to whatever degree he is in charge of Wikileaks) was too ambitious. He should have relased the BoA documents first, which while embarrising to the US at some level, probably would be impossible to call "terrorism" and would have made him popular with the masses as a protector of the little man. Now when he releases these same documents, it'll be economic terrorism and an attempt to destabilize the US economy.

Probably.  They both likely want to drop off the face of the earth at this point, and are trying to salvage their lives as much as they can now.  It's unfortunate.  Based only on what I know, I disagree with their judgement... but I disagree more with their treatment by the internet community.

Ok, I'm more and nore sure "has not formally been charged with any offence." source Guardian.

The charge are made up.

None of the women have actually submitted a formal complain.
It look like they argued with Assange (if all the thnigs in this article are true, with good reason), have gone to the police to force him to do an std test, not denying to have had consensual sex with Assange, and the police made up rape accusation from the women complain.
