I just got my King, he died of old age within 1 second
« on: December 07, 2010, 04:15:43 am »

His whole group is there, He just died the second he stepped foot on my land. Must have been quite a sight to see my mega fortress. I'm still a Mountainhome. But my highest Nobel is a Countess. What will happen? Will I not get my keepers :(

My whole castle has been one massive successful step after the other and now BAM failure. :)

I made my first Dangeroom and everything. My megafortress was awesome. It'd be a shame to have to start over :(  Oh well stop complaining right?

One should NEVER grow too attached to ones fortress that they don't jump at the chance to start again. It can only end in tears.

Liaisons are supposedly replaced if lost nowadays. I could see said succession system applying to other nobles. Check the civ screen, maybe that'll say something useful.

Sometimes you'll get an old king in worldgen that's close to death, and the extra years it takes your fort to mature and attract the king push him over his expiry date.  So the game creates him on the map edge, blinks twice and says 'Hang on, this guy is ancient.  He should be dead already.'  and kills him...

I'm pretty sure you'll not get a new king, since the game thinks he came already and doesn't care that he's died.

I wonder, what would they do if someone killed their king.

Is he going to visit Urist McHamlet and cause a loyalty cascade?
