Upright *Cotton Candy Cane* and fort value.

Does having an upright *spoiler* increase your risk for invasion since it adds so much value to your fort outright from the beginning?

Yup.

And no, there's no explanation for how either your dwarves or the gobbos knew it was there in the first place.

... Yes, the hugs are for everyone.  No stabbing, though.  Just hugs.

Don't goblin civilization have clown leaders?

I want to tell you they were bad men, cephalo.  I want to tell you that with a better overseer the Fortress never would've gotten so bad someone would get offed in a pointless fisticuffs.
But the sad truth charlie?
It was inevitable.

Does anyone else think that it's odd that you can attach those to a lever as an upright spike? (That's actually how I found out where mine was, despite it still being obscured from sight.)

The reason for this is that when you embark on a map, everything that is not in the hands of a creature is considered "yours" (which is why the deconstruction of the trade depot will make all of the goods yours, as they aren't held, but were under the trade depot's tasked items).  The cotton candy cane (h8ers gonna h8) is technically an "upright spear trap" with a sword as the trap component, and as no one is holding it and it isn't forbidden, it is the property of your fortress.  That's also why you can deconstruct it.

I'm still using !!SCIENCE!! on goblin prisoners trying to make them talk on how they know what lies in the depths of our fortresses and how they know how much it's worth. We've run out of test subjects.
