Like many other people here, I have often been disappointed when even if you embark on several biomes with different alignments, you only seem to get creatures from one of them. In fact, it has happened so often to me that I thought it a rule, and/or a bug of sorts. I've read several threads about it here on the forum as well, and it seems to me that the common view around here is that that's how things work.

Well, it seems I was wrong. Upon embarking on a Untamed Wild mountain and as well as the Terrifying forest next to it, I seem to have creatures from both regions:

Those seem to be skeleton/zombie animals from the forest, as well as ordinary, living Hoary Marmots from the mountains. So whether this was fixed in one of the recent releases, or possible all along, at least here is some proof that it can happen.

Of course, I apologize if this was already well known. I just got so excited when it happened I had to share it with everyone.

Good/evil would've been the deadliest. Two words: Undead Unicorns.

 I found a good jungle/evil swamp/evil tropical ocean once.

...Hoary Marmots aren't UW creatures. But apart from that it looks pretty good.

The truth is that there doesnt seem to be any such bug with embarking on mixed biomes.  What animals you actually end up getting just appears to have some strong random elements.  I had a joyous wilds/terrifying split and saw only unicorns for almost 10 years, then suddenly 1 day a pack of werewolves.

The reason it was so widely believed is that it so often appears to be the case I guess.

Hah. I've got hoary marmots on the surface and zombie giant bats in the second or third cavern layer.

Update: And who'd have guessed, here come the skeletal camels, replaced the non-dead mountain goats. I've got double alignment alright.

I found a Evil/Neutral/Good emabrk site a while ago, and got both undead hoary marmots and a regular giant eagle at the same time.

For some reason I get creatures from both my biomes ... but not at the same time.

One season camels are crossing the desert, next season a giant eagle comes from the mountains.... come to think of it. The camels and the eagle were there at the same time, but mostly they just pass by eachother.

Well I've found myself a joyous/terrifing embark atm. Though so far only undead Elk and two-hump camels, I was hoping for an undead unicorn
