zombies/ skeletal creatures?
« on: December 04, 2010, 07:13:20 pm »

I started a fort in a haunted location. To my dismay, I saw no undead or skeletal animals, only a few ogres and harpies which I quickly killed. Where do zombies and skeletal creatures live?

The local wildlife will spawn as zombies or skeletons.
Also, the cavern critters will be skelified or zombified too.

nope. I stayed in my haunted fort for years and there were no zombies anywhere. I did see tons of normal elephants and monkeys, though. In the caves were normal naked mole dogs and giant olms.

It has to be a terrifying area to have skeletal and zombie creatures.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Anyway, the reason you don't have undead stuff is because you have ogres and harpies. You can have undead stuff or evil monsters, but not both.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

darn. the ogres die too fast :(

Yeah, I started another fort in a terrifying location, and still no sign of zombies: I have ogres and normal gazelles and normal warthogs.

getting undead or even evil creatures in an evil biome has always been a shot in the dark.  I've noticed in .18 that getting evil creatures seems to happen slightly more often than undead now myself. But that may just be chance *shrugs*

....They just refuse to stay down unless butchered, in which case their skins will haunt you until you subdue and tan them. Never has legendary butcher and legendary tanner seemed so valueable as in this release.

Well, that's what happened to me in my two attempts. (First one was in a haunted biome, no one skeletal and no zombie, terrifying and tons of skeletal and zombie)
