yes, but how would you put a character in the fairie world without revealing too much. If it was more human then it could walk the streets like a normal person. take you and me for instance. would you be willing to beleive that a persons skin was made of glowing rocks, or would you believe that he just had some dark colored, dirty skin.

but there are limits to that though. six legs, a snakelike body and made of glowng stone would be a little hard to believe as something else.

I'm going by some Greek mythology here.
Daemons fall into 2 categories, though the dividing line is blurry: the Eudaemons and Kakodaemons, representing the pure and corrupt mind respectively. They are unable to directly influence the world, though they can be seen by some. Instead they try to coerce other sentient beings, and especially humans, to do their bidding. Most Daemons visit many, but never gain much influence, but some Daemons are closely related to one person or a small group, sometimes to the point of possession. Many of the great minds and talents of past and present were influenced strongly by a Daemon. Eudaemons are typically related to inventors, artists and activists, while Kakodaemons are often related to evil geniuses, psychopaths and dictators. Sometimes an Eudaemon can be misguided, resulting in for example terrorists or horrible inventions.


While Daemons are ofttimes merely suggestive, they will sometimes attempt to force their will upon people, for reasons unknown. Irrespective of whether it's an Eudaemon or a Kakodaemon, this will result in the person in question going mad. Attempts to capture or control Daemons usually have the same results, as will insulting them. Like most beings from the Otherworld, lying is a very taxing activity for a Daemon and they'll rarely lie if they can avoid it.

Redcaps are evil beings who live on the suffering and death of their victims. To those who can see them, they're short, wrinkled men carrying a cloth cap covered in blood and typically a large serrated knife or cleaver. They live in abandoned buildings and try to lure other sentients into those places to kill them in their sleep. While they'll settle for humans, their most prized kills are actually the fae and they'll go to extensive lengths to kill one. They're inventive, smart and malevolent and like fae will sell their services for the right price, which typically includes blood and death. Unlike the Fae, Redcaps are capable of lying, though it is very difficult for them and catching a Redcap unguarded will usually make it impossible for him to lie. they are also incapable of directly killing beings that are awake unprovoked, though they will not hesitate to do so if threatened.

Also, a being as described by Armok would probably be a greater spirit of fire, or maybe even a spirit associated with a volcano. Perhaps her natural shape would be monstrous as that, but to those who aren't deep in the otherworld she could keep up a semblance of humanity. Imagine the surprise when her disguise starts to fail for some characters

Hmmmm how about the idea of the queens enforcing certain rules because of some great war or catastrophe that happened a very long time ago with afteraffects including the fact that the fey have to stay hidden, and maybe certain fey and spirits being bound to specific places and objects.

That could be the reason the Otherworld was split off from our world and became hidden as well. Perhaps there was something that went very wrong between humans and the Fae, prompting the Queen to split the two worlds. that would also mean that most beings from the Otherworld (if we're going to include them) could be rather wary of humans.

it could be that the fey magicians are always visible most of them look normal. beings like the bug demon and armoks character may only be visble by those who possess magic. there should be one other way to see them that doesn't require a sacrifice i just cant think of one.

maybe just simply having possession of the stone. maybe incorporating it into the hilt of a sword or the butt of a gun

yes, but how would you guys suggest I make a character that's never visible to humans unless he wants to be? that's more for a secondary character or an enemy.

I like the idea of her being the spirit of a volcano or somehting. The fae idea doesn't work as well because she's suppose to be a sympathetic character.

There are two queens. one for the faeries that don't care about people, and one  for the ones that want to kill them.

Seelie and Unseelie. Sometimes they are associated with summer and winter, your choice.
