Ever heard of this comic? It's an eminently readable zombiepocalypse comic by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore.

It's also an eminently watchable TV show on AMC at 9-10c on Sundays.

I love the comic, but I've only read up to the end of the first compilation book. I like the AMC adaption, but I'm begining to worry about it, although not to the point where I like it any less. Season Finale in two days!

I've got the first five compilation books. They are fucking AWESOME. There's around 11 or 12 books total.

Also, what I've seen of the first season (read: episode descriptions) does depart a bit from the comics, but still worth a watch.

Also, this Sunday, AMC has the entire season on the docket from 2PM to 9PM in Arizona.

I found a decent place to stream them; I'll have to link once I'm home from work.  (The official AMC site has a link to stream it, but it's 404.)

The director just fired the entire writing staff of Season 1. :O

Fo srs?

EDIT: Looks like it might make sense, since he is purported to have done most of the work on season one, anyways. Apparently, he wants to write the majority of episodes himself, contracting freelancers to write the rest. In Season One, it is claimed that he wrote two of the episodes and did extensive reworking on the other four.

Makes sense in one way, though as a workers' rights kind of guy it still aggravates me.

I don't know if the first works, but all the others do.

More or less the same, with some differences in the plot of episodes, the addition of new characters, and the omission of some others (Specifically a family which is in the books but not the show).

I heard one person grouse and moan about the show's treatment of certain characters for the first couple episodes, then rapidly become a transfixed fan once it became clear that they were actually not going to get canceled.  Same thing happened with some True Blood fans I think.  It's not perfect, but you gotta play to the medium, and it's coming out pretty good I hear.

I'm enjoying the show, but I'm glad the writing is due for a change. The Walking Dead is starting to be referred to as "Dawson's Creek with Zombies."

The source material largely is in certain respects, though.

I read the first few issues, up to the point of the prison.

I enjoyed them immensely, apparently the latest series of comics is quite interesting (life's getting back to normal).

The show on the other hand (hahahahahaha) is quite good, I like the artistic license the crew have taken, not following the exact dogma set out in the comics. A bit sceptical of the memories thing that was going on, but nonetheless enjoyable.

Well, that was a pretty good season finale, if one that has literally no representation in the comics, but...seriously, the French were the last to fall? I'd expect an island nation to hold out longer than one with several landlocked borders.
