Does anyone else use this service? It's, essentially, a DRM-free steam, with no client to download. I just snagged Blood Bowl and HTTT on it, because a sale's going on.

Sounds neat; how does it handle online-multiplayer games that use lobbies?  Does it let you download infinite copies?

I'm pretty sure it lets you download infinite copies. As for the multiplayer lobby games - no idea. It works, though, I think.

I've used it since the release of Eu3, and have always found it godly.
Bought tons of games, unlimited downloads, nice sales.
There's also the 'blue coins' thing that I enjoy getting back with every purchase, mainly because I forget about them until I realize I have a bunch and can buy a game without actually paying anything.
Actually,  I thought everyone pretty much knew about it but use steam instead for the social features despite steam's annoying restrictions.

Also their support is about the best you can find in that business.

same thing here, used it for eu. I like it because it has a fair bit of obscure games, but I've invested to much in steam to change now. I like also god old games (gog.com) for the same reason, you find rare jewels on those. also on amazon, and there they comes with the original box! I got fragile allegiancie on that.

It's a good site.  Doesn't have as much content as steam, but it gives you what you want.  Great sale on EU3 going on right now too.

They do allow DRM, but they don't have an in-house one.

They do allow DRM, but they don't have an in-house one.

That could be a negative aspect, depending on the games, because one DRM built into the service is better than ten different DRM systems created because "DRM reduces piracy".

It's not really a circumventable aspect, I don't think. I don't know how it works on steam with games that normally sell with DRM, but at least with gamersgate you're sure there's no overlap. The alternative would be every game on gamersgate having DRM, which would be horrible, or the site pirating DRM-less games and selling them, which would be illegal.

I got the X3 Gold pack through them.  For some reason it gave me some CD keys with it even though there's no DRM and I never needed to enter one to install.  On a hunch I tried entering them all on steam and one of the keys for Reunion unlocked Terran Conflict  :o  Dunno what's up with that but now I can play it either with or without steam.

With Gamersgate you're likely to get different versions of the same DRM, which could wreak havoc on things. Gamersgate just takes in whatever DRM the developer throws in with their game.
