Not to mention that most politicians are 45 or older - lots of 'em are in their 60's!

@ OP: America fell because

1.: It was founded by religious extremists - NOT reasonable people
2.: The further the economy was deregulated, the further corporate corruption spread
3.: The corporately corrupted government did everything it could to ensure that the people were as blindly patriotic as possible, so that no matter what shit they pulled for their personal enrichment, they could always count on being able to go on with it

Ta~daa. Now shower and get dressed, the chinese hegemony is about to knock at the door.

I'm actually quite nice IRL, but you people have to pay the price for that.

Now stop being distracted by the rudeness, quit your accusations of trollery, and start arguing like real men!

One thing that disturbs me is that some people have this idea that being stupid is okay because they're not the only ones, like its just acceptable nowadays.

The other thing is this "you're either with me or against me" attitude with politics. You can't be pro choice but dislike healthcare, you have to be on the Dems side or the Reps side. It isn't really a problem for citizens, its a problem for politicians. They can't have their own opinions on things, they're either dem or rep, and then we count the seats in congress like its a competition, like we don't even consider them people with minds of their own, they're just warriors for this side or that battling over control of government. WTF is wrong here.

That is what third parties are for. However, there aren't enough people in them, so the only real players are the Dems and Reps. And people have always been battling for control of the government, it is called politics.

(On a side note, spellcheck recognizes Reps as a word, but not Dems. WTF?!?)

America does have a major export product: culture. Every manufacturing country needs a piece of that awesome advertising power to push their products. In the dystopian future, corporations have taken over America and turned it into a giant theme park. I hope you like dressing as cowboys and cartoon characters.

There are also several resources which the US cannot produce domestically that it needs to function. One being, crude oil, the other being uranium come to mind readily, but not the only ones.

Enter Canada.

That's really not true. Well, it might be more or less true for the modern republican party (thanks to the self-serving efforts of Newt "lol culture war" Gingrich ::)), but plenty of democrats break rank to vote against even the weak, center-rightist bullshit they're trying to pass off as "progressive" these days, proclaiming it to be "commie bullshit".

(On a side note, spellcheck recognizes Reps as a word, but not Dems. WTF?!?)
Because "rep" is an accepted abbreviation of "repetition" and "representative"; "thirty reps", "sales rep", etc.

Rep is very common. Maybe it's repetitions or representatives.

EDIT: Ninja'd (not really I just don't read :P)

I think it's a little strange that Firefox doesn't recognize "Barack Obama" as a properly spelled name.
