Well, if I'm interested in the material, I tend to slow down and digest every sentence more thoughtfully than usual.

I have no idea how many pages I can read in four hours. But I could list several books that I've read in one sitting, which is probably somewhat shorter than four hours.

Most recently Our Friends From Frolix 8 by Philip K Dick. Can't remember how many pages that was.

if people are really like (cough Vector cough) that they can post in the thread.

Hahahahaha.

No, I read at the rate of about 100-130 pages an hour (in English.  French and Japanese are both abominably slow).  I read for meaning, though, and am not a fan of skimming... so I guess I might speed up if I were just blazing through.

I'm used to reading a thousand-page book in a day, so, 301-600.

My record is 2400 pages in a day, I think, reading for about 8-10 hours.  I decided I wanted to read through an entire series at one point.

Changing the poll again already? Yes!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The next poll will be: "Do you know how to swim?"

I swim like a pro. Perhaps a retired, elderly pro with some mild arthritis, but a pro nonetheless.

I'm just shocked at how many people never learned how to swim. I remember that the question came up in one of my classes somehow, and more than half of the people claimed to have no swimming ability whatsoever. These are perfectly healthy high school students, mind you, and more than 50% of them would drown if thrown into ten feet of water.

I can swim, but I'm terrified of water and start having a panic attack the minute I get in.

I don't know which section that goes in.

As long as you can stay afloat of your own action, then yes.
If you just freak out and start to drown out of sheer hydrophobia, then that would be physically unable.

Wait what really?

Maybe it is because if we live in the state of ten thousand lakes, but around here, if you can not swim there is something wrong with you.
