Does anyone else think that this awesome anti-cavalry weapon should be more used in fiction?

I'm partial to good old-fashioned spears.  Also Danish axes.  Only one of those is really an anti-cavalry weapon, though you could make do with the axe.

Halberds are in Dwarf Fortress I think, but I don't see them that much.

Pikes are like the AK-47s of medieval warfare. They're cheap, easy to train on, and you probably don't want to be on a horse when it's pointing at you.

Yes halberds are sexy, but they don't allow shields and are even more screwed than spears if a sword gets in close.
