Embark goes downhill
« on: December 01, 2010, 06:10:14 pm »

Dododo-dee-do, time to embark. Oh wow, what a nice place to embark, lot of delicious hematite, embarked between a river and two mountains, with one being a volcano, and I am also at the base of it. Things are looking up today! Lets see what kind of animals my dorfs can eat on this untamed, wild land...

EDIT: Well since my valley is so awesome I am in, it seems that he cannot see my people, since the valley is pretty narrow. He shall become our forts mascot now. Also, my forts random generated name is "CanyonCradles". This is going to be an awesome fort.

http://dffd.wimbli.com/
The official file hosting site for DF files.

zip or rar the region folder and upload to dffd
or upload the worldgen parameters, but i modded a bit so idk how it will react to my game if i gen the world.

Mind telling me how I share?
Also, heres a picture of the map.

Yeah.. I've done some modding too.. Not sure it would work too good, or at all for that matter...
Plus I got civilization forge on here.

1. Get a program that deals with .zip files (Such as WINrar)
2. Right click the folder containing your save (in DwarfFortress>Data>Saves)
3. Upload the file to the file sharing place
4. ???
5. Fun

A man would see that as a difficult challenge.
An elf would see that and despair.
A dwarf would see that and say, "Bring it on."

esc > export local image > e

Some pictures of your fort will be exported to your main DF directory along with a txt file containing the world gen parameters
You can delete the pics if you don't want em, but this is the only way that I know of to get the params. You can also toggle the layers off that you don't want pictures of in the export menu.

What tileset/graphics pack are you using? If you don't mind me asking.

Holy Fuck.

I think there is some conflict with the civ forge or... something
At year 10 of history generation i have over 22,000 historical figures and over 100k events
DF crashes by year 287 with...

over 300k historical figs and nearly 1 million events

and the params states the world goes up to year 750......

Then change the end year in the params to something like 100 or something. It'll get you the same world but just ends gen sooner... like before the crash. By the way nice looking site.
