I'll take a look at it when I get back to work.

If I understand this correctly, this bug affects underground farms only, correct?

Secondly, let me see if I can summarize the bug:

An underground farm plot with one z-level between it and the ground above, regardless of ceiling, turns into an outdoor farm plot?

Wrecked my farms, disabled the power generator causing all the magma defenses to congeal and killed 26 dwarves by freezing the 1's and 2's under their feet.

This is proving to be even more cataclysmic then when fire was implented.

I have same problem, but not with farms. I have denied access outside, because otherwise everybody wants to run inside to a cave and die. This also kills my fps and stops them doing anything usefull hauling, like finished goods.
So i noticed my miner to stop digging and wondered why, turns out space he digs turns to above ground, with light. This stops my mining operations for now.

Yeah, that's about right.

This counts as below-ground.

code:
_____ <-surface
##### <-natural wall
_____ <-open area
FFFFF <-farm

Mine out the #'s and the farm becomes above-ground. Nothing I've built has ever made one go from above-ground to underground, so if those #'s were constructed walls, the above would be above-ground.

Does it allow you to plant aboveground plants in the "confused" farm plots? (I haven't upgraded to 33e yet)

I was able to plant seeds from "aboveground" collected plants in "broken" underground farm plots.

Yeah, been getting this for sure, and it fits the established pattern here.

For now, I use aboveground plants to feed my dwarves, grown underground.

My most recent fort has a few layers of Loam, so I'm good so far with farming.  For some reason, though, my kitchen is "above ground".

I had a similar issue.  I actually dug down two Z-levels and placed a farm.  It was considered above ground.  However, the Z-level right above the area was a brook.  Not sure if this has anything to do with it, because it looks like everyone else is having this problem.  I did have a farm that was a few squares away that was fine.

Water needs an open space to flow through, so the area directly under the brook should be mislabeled above ground. The rest of the room should be subterranean.

i tried a new fortress on 33e in a flat area with no slopes/cliffs. everything i dug was labeled above ground. some was light, some wasnt. but belowground crops were the issue and i couldnt get anything to be below ground. i tried building a house above the stairway both before and after digging. didnt make any difference. i tried constructed stairways instead of dug ones. didnt make a difference. i tried version 33d on the exact same spot, doing the exact same things. it worked just fine. i'm sticking to 33dd until this bug has been fixed.

and it definitely wasnt under a brook or any other water. though there is a brook on the map.

I transferred my fortress from 33d to 33e.  Now all of my underground farms are labeled as above ground.  I'm sticking with d until this is fixed, else it'll kill my fortress.

Edit: spelling
