"Eh, we're not huge on books ourselves. Thera- the spider, if you didn't know already- is the nerdiest person here, from what I can tell. As for that Jack character, if he tells the truth, he's had thousands of years or more to amass knowledge. I wouldn't blame him for doing so."

*Still wincing from the unstopping oh so very painful noise, I throw my self onto the book and tear it in half, both pieces falling to the ground. The fog that filled the room begins turning brownish as if some kind of thick dust. The ambient light turns a shade of yellow, and figures are seen rising from the ground. Seeing this I push myself from the pedestal and engage my gauntlet gun on one arm, and my arm drill on the other, holding them out as I walk back to the exit.*
"Shadows!"

[Phantom]

Berkar stumbles upon the Library, and begins pulling various books out of shelves, and when he collects about a stack of 10, he goes off to read them one by one.

Dariel, on the other hand, is sending out varieties of Psionic Bursts at the shadows.

"books contain stories of the past of wars, heroes, romance, and power. They are treasured in my old city..... we didn't had much of them after the steam explosion."

'and then, they'll taste my claws' *18 inch claws sprout out of Tenshi's hand and she slices a board of wood in half with them*

"It's the problem with a lot of public and socialistic things," Thera notes nearby. "If everyone's asked to do it, utterly rational people will all expect someone else to do it, with the result that no one actually does it. And if everyone receives the benefits, there will be those who get a free ride."

Jack pulls out his revolvers.
"These should do just fine...I think." He starts shooting anyways.

"What is this steam you talk about so much anyways?" Kata asks.

[Something Evil]

*Winged Tyranids snatch Dariel, Jack and Iceball off the ground and fly them outside.*
"Not in the open! We can better hold them off if we bottleneck them at the exit!"

[Phantom]

Dariel fights his way off from the Winged Tyranids to get out on his own power, while leaving various weak powered shimmers to fight.

[Twi]

Jack pulls out a new mask, one with a prominent beak, and turns into some sort of birdman, and starts flying himself up.
"Sheesh."

[iceball3]

*Several of the shadows are engulfed by the energy, severely slowed. One leaps for me and I shoot it in the face. A huge chunk of it tears away as I drive my trill through its abdomen, tearing it apart. One of the shadows leaps to Jack, mostly run through the shots that take small chunks off of it. It then goes up to Dariel and swings in an uppercut.*

*Winged Tyranids snatch Dariel, Jack and Iceball off the ground and fly them outside.*

*We fly up out of it and I take my stance facing down at them from the top.*

Dariel dodges, and attempts to punch the shadow himself.

[Twi]

Jack smacks the shadow away with a few good punches as he flies up, and quickly reloads his revolvers and keeps shooting, even when he gets out of there.
