*Goes to it and looks at it again. I put my finger up against the button and it glows, then vanishes. A section of the black metal wall pulls apart and folds up, to reveal a lit passage going forward, but heavily clouded in fog.*

*Several packs of 'gaunts move inside herded by some warriors.*
"No lights outside, no signs as can be read, and no traces of life. Whoever left here did not do so in a hurry and was not expecting to come back."

*You do realize that Jack has a freaking HALO at the moment, right? His form is modeled after 'angels', after all.*
Jack sighs and moves down the passage slowly.

*I check my airmask, the air around us still is plenty full of oxygen. I walk into the passage after the swarm. the passage opens up to a difficult to see size due to the fog. The passage seems to have a fair amount of ambient light.*

[Something Evil]

"Smooth floor and walls. No indication of heavy machinery moving through, so possibly meant for personnel access. Also it would be quite useful if you could turn off the halo, Jack. My selves are numerous enough to act as a meat shield, but I would not have a glowing <<Shoot here!>> sign above us if it can be helped."

[Twi]

"Point."
Jack turns into his normal form, but his eyes glow slightly. Not nearly as bright as the halo, but it is noticeable in the dark.

*As we branch out through the passage, it comes more and more to looking like a dome room of sorts with little notches engraved in a curved shape on the floor, trialling in and out of visibility.*

*And there they are, somewhat entwined in the ground. They seem somewhat responsive to her abilities.
As we proceed a few feet forward, Jack bumps into something hard.*

*'nids continue to pour from behind, spreading out to cover ground.*

"And only plants? Well, that leaves out the possibility of an ambush. Now our concern should be hidden weapon mounts, coming in any flavor from poison gas and flamethrowers to short range missiles and energy weapons. Regardless, this place is immense, and indiscernible from bedrock from outside. By chance alone have I not bumped into it by tunneling."




*Outside, the Hive Tyrant comes up, large arms bearing a transparent bottle-like contraption filled with a midnight bubbling fluid, its sweetness permeating through the open top, a massive bowl of voidblossom flowers and a tray of grilled fish and deer venison, lightly smoked and spiced. (Wohoo for having 4 arms!) It places its load on the ground under the tree, then sits down next to Tenshi and the napping Arekkusu, gun still clutched in his arms. After taking off the faceplate, it casually starts throwing voidblossoms into the air and catching them in its mouth. After a while it points to the CSE settlement and says, in its deep voice:*

"To think that a society so diverse can spread out among the stars with seemingly no infighting and no bias on outer shape. It makes one hopeful, does it not..."

[Twi]

"Uh oh."
Jack has bumped into something and quickly backs away.

[Phantom]

Berkar watches the events transpire, while Dariel quietly disappears to his home under the river. Berkar comments about something before aiming towards an isolated Tyranid.
