Necromantic CAN be magic, but doesn't need to be.

Once you choose a type, you'll have several upgrades available, some of which will be "source", of which you are only ever allowed to pick one. (Each unlocks a whole new set of upgrades)

The defaults will be (though you can always suggestion others):

For Necromantic
Infernal
Cosmic Rays
Magically Manipulated (By an individual or group)
Technological (a few refinements available here)

For Parasitic
Alien, Manipulated
Alien, Independent
Bio-engineered
Naturally Occuring

Its harder to kill off a species than a single person. Who says the undead won't kill us immediatly? Then we have to raise the undead by ourselves, which I'm sure the army would quickly figure out.

Not nessasarily, we could have cast some epic spell, warping reality itself and animating the bodies of all who fall, it isn't nessasary to be their if you are using magic, and if it is, then i can't think of a remotley possible way for the zombies to win. or what ragnarok said for animating, the possibilities are huge if you are using magic.

killing a single person is pretty easy yeah, but how would you even find out that a) magician is doing it and b) where and who he is. it would be pretty easy to hide in a underground bunker and direct the zombie apocolypse from there.
Personally i think it would be cool if 5 posters controlled 5 mages, and they each control a portion of the horde.

So parasite (the most boring type of zombie, imo) is winning. fun.
Necromancy has things besides zombies, you know.
We could bcome a Litch. Kinda hard to kill us then.
also we could learn other magic than necromancy, theoretically.
I second the "YOU ARE NECROMANCERS" idea.

I like parasites still, Necro could be just as fun but I just can not get the idea of a parasect pokemon looking monster crawling around spreading the parasite.

... Parasect would have nothing to do with this.
Parasite has to do with us being an organism within a corpse which uses it as a meat puppet.
not a creature outside the body using it as a mindslave.
that's necromancy.

There are upgrade paths from parasite that allow the parasites to exist independently of their host.

It's also possible to have multiform parasites, where the creatures "grow" in the host, and then become something else - either by "hatching" from the host, or slowly converting the host into the new form. For example, a creature better equipped to spread the parasite like the Halo exploding zombies or even some powerful and completely independent creature that psychically controls a horde of immature parasites in corpses..

I think I established the creation of exploding spore zombies already.

I guess we could try and make a more advanced parasitic infection cause your type to appear..
