The urge to bite is stronger against people who are your rival, the man who steals your girl, people in the political party fighting you hard, the man who just shot the damn bird, topping your score.
The stronger the rivalry, the greater the increase in urge.

uninfected rivals, of course.

Dormancy period adjustment: all infections take some time to take hold.

however, not everybody can tell they are infected. Just make sure the dormancy period is unpredictable(longer and shorter)
