So in adventurer mode whenever my goblin moves towards an ally, instead of them lying down so he can by he whips them in the face with his scourge. Is this because he's from an enemy civilization? I'm gonna check and see if this happens when I start a goblin outsider.

Are his friends bandits?  I've found that you always attack bandits even if you've recruited them.

Nope, just the friendly neighborhood peasants I recruited. I tried starting as a goblin outsider and I didn't have any problems, so I think it may have something to do with their civilizations being at war? I'd imagine once he gets the other civ's sites up you would just start at a goblin tower and not have to deal with this human nonsense.

I've personally always had more trouble with being sent to kill bandits and have them turn out friendly because I'm so famous.
