Human mod?
« on: November 29, 2010, 03:54:24 pm »

Are there any mods allowing you to play as humans?

And I don't mean just giving them the [CIV_CONTROLABLE] tag and playing. I mean a mod that gives them noble possitions, military, and all the stuff thats needed for fort mode.

I also want them to be able to work all metals and build all weapons.

Those are all stored in the entity files.  Beyond [CIV_CONTROLLABLE] you would need to copypaste all of the dwarven noble positions from the dwarves into the humans, and all their (the dwarves') [PERMITTED_REACTION] and permitted jobs to get all the metals.  And possibly the permitted buildings too.  as for weapons, I believe every civ has their permitted weapons near the top of the entry.  That should be everything.

What you're saying is basically you want to play as dwarves, but slightly larger?

Part of the fun of playing as humans is the limited number of options for metalworking!

If I play as humans then, at the very least, I have justified reason to only go underground for stone and metal.

I just rigged this very quickly for you, 'twas hardly a problem at all. :P Copy this to the end of your entity_default raw (found in the DF folder -> raw -> objects) and delete the [CIV_CONTROLLABLE] token from the current top Dwarf entity (so you don't face the problem of a random race between the two on embark).

Oh, and be sure to gen a new world, as with all 'mods'. :)
