Eh, i suppose tree estates has claimed a lot of land on one side of spawn, but its not like other people havent claimed land around it either.. And while i can see your point, its not like skycity doesnt have a lot of territory either.. Isn't that normal?
Besides, while it may not seem like it, there are tree-estate built/mined things in all of tree-estates territory.. It's not like it was grabbed and never used...

I don't really know how you would protect public-access rodes if they weren't owned by cities though...

Besides, while it may not seem like it, there are tree-estate built/mined things in all of tree-estates territory.. It's not like it was grabbed and never used...

Skycity doesn't have huge amounts of territory shoved up right against the spawn. I couldn't even work on fixing the water damage to the spawn because of tree estates claims. Also, Skycity's territory, while fairly large, is pretty much contained to one area; Tree Estates sprawls.

Also also, bullshit on there not being tree estates territory that was grabbed and never used. There are several chunks of it right next to my house; my ire exists for a reason.

oo.. really? are you sure there isn't prechance, mines underneith? I thought they extended to all the borders, and much beyond.
Certainly there is un-used above ground land.. But i don't see why that should matter.. per-say.
Regardless.. Yes, i agree tree estates has tons of land shoved up against one side of spawn.
I am unsure what exactly you are suggesting as a alternative? and how it would be better/justified?
Making the spawn zone larger is fine by me..
...Still think tree-estates has done a great deal with the land it claimed though. Maybe not enough to make you happy though..

I'm not sure what your complaint is though? cities shouldnt claim near the spawn? Wouldnt that make the world kinda boring looking to newcomers? Cities shouldn't claim land they don't utilize to a 100% extent right away?
I think most of the tree-estates borders were created to protect the mines and skybridges from being destroyed by random people.

EXACTLY RIFT! I intended on claiming the skybridge BECAUSE I didn't want people to DECIMATE it... I only intended to keep me from being angry... but... almost ALL of the estates have been destroyed because someone thought it would be funny, and I do not like it at all... And I am hoping that Head shall make a map wipe, even though I have LOADS of diamonds from my MANY MANY homes... Rift is perfectly correct about the skybridges

On the contrary - this is just my opinion of course but I've visited plenty of servers before I settled on Head's and the biggest turnoff for me has always been an overcrowding of buildings near the spawn - particularly towers and floating structures and particularly those involving lots of water and lava - the first thing you see shouldn't be a complete mess of competing megastructures - new people visiting will immediately come to the conclusion that the place is overdeveloped and think 'is there room for me here?'.
I mean no offense to Head or anyone who plays on the server but I overlooked this when I started playing on the server as I was more interested in the DF Forum based community (ie: generally cool people) and the fact that it was hosted in Europe (ie: good latency for me in the UK) - but its still not an attractive thing for me as a player.

Regarding skybridges and stuff, how about we have a set of things everyone agrees to? Maybe where roads and skybridges are considered public land (or government owned, if governments work) and anyone who breaks said agreements is harshly dealt with. Maybe through being kicked, declared a criminal, or by having their property defaced. About mines, though... They're underground. You don't need to claim them, because nobody digs down just to break into a mine.

I just learned that the enormous wall of water that got put up right over what was obviously not part of Tree Estates (read: my swimming pool) is yours. The wall of water that has made it take three times as long to walk from my house to the spawn.

This is exactly what I am talking about. You managed to flood a construction that I was working on and made it virtually impossible for people to walk southwest of the spawn. AND, because of the permissions, it can't be fixed.

I've been looking for the person to blame for days now; you're lucky I've managed to remain civil in this post. What were you thinking when you put that up?

Yeah, i'm sorry. I was overzelous. i killed it.


I suppose i just wanted to see how big of wall of water i could make. The only construction i saw along the entire path i thought was abandoned. That was entirely my bad. I didn't see how it could impact peoples travel time, as i thought they could just walk through it.. But i suppose that was pure hubris on my part.
