I let my tortoise out for a wander round the house earlier and now we can't find her anywhere. I'm afraid she's gotten outside when I was out feeding the chickens and fallen down the stairs into the back garden but I can't see any sign of her out there.

On a rational level I'm sure she's just somewhere we haven't checked thoroughly enough, but I can feel myself getting more and more worried on a subconscious level.

Which kind it is? I know some in some species here female turtles actually burrow themselves like zergs on ocations. Dunno if is a natural behavior or just attempts to scape their enclosures/habitats/yards or something.

She's a hermann's tortoise, they are natural burrowers but there's nowhere for her to bury herself. If she got out into the garden she'd have fallen down a flight of concrete stairs, if she's in the house she normally wedges herself in a corner or under some laundry or bags, but we've been unable to find her in her usual places.

Perhaps novel coronavirus deserves its own thread that I can firefight in. I agree the discussion has been worn out here.

They also declared that travel and trade restrictions with China are unnecessary, and that China has been doing their duty in responsibly combatting the virus. WHO discussions continue tomorrow. 3 existing drugs have shown effectiveness against coronavirus and are going into further trials now. Peak infection is expected within two weeks, if we're lucky.

Pretty lucky, I'd say. If this were a deadly virus, panic would be reasonable. It was declared a crisis mostly since it had crossed borders already when identified, and will require international efforts to stop completely.

The drugs are Remdesivir, Chloroquine and Ritonavir, none of which I know anything about, and could be imagined. Personally, since I'm spending all of my days inside, I've been ensuring proper vitamin levels by consuming a wide variety of beer. A varied diet is important to health.

200/7000 Is pretty good. I believe the US especially is drumming up the threat of the virus. But everyone is guilty of panicing. I just think it's unreasonable compared to the actuality of the infection.
