Okay. Now it's my turn to be somewhat confused by I term I don't recognize-- WHAT THE FUCK is a semen demon?
I'm imagining a DF-style demon, actually made out of semen and presumably showering your dwarves with the, er, baby batter upon being beaten down by a militia swarm. THEY WOULD GET IT IN THEIR BEARDS AND TRACK IT ALL OVER YOUR FORTRESS There aren't even videocameras in the game, goddamnit. I'm sure you could sell such a recording to the elves.

Oh jeez.
Whilst I was tipsy earlier I seem to have* commented on an old friend's photo (they were in the nearest city to hear) making a vague suggestion of catching up. Now, this is a seriously old friend. This guy was basically my sidekick back in primary school for a while when I was eleven or something; we wrote and illustrated short stories about robot toilets, shared facial tics and teased this one kid (consensually) so well that he went and freaking snitched on us, that rat. So then we kinda shared an awkwardly forced public apology, too.

He is now, judging by what I've gleaned from his social media posts since I decided to "friend" him a while back, presumably during a fit of nostalgia, a big bearded bogan bloke who likes motorbikes and such, and who was recently married to a big bogan babe but now seems to be posting about a new girlfriend all the time instead. Huh.

I'm not saying I've made a terrible mistake by initiating actual interactions here or anything, but... I've made a terrible mistake. D:

Oh gods, I once killed a pretty huge house fly and was surprised to learn that its guts were actually a swarm of tiny writhing maggots.

I humbly request that you not quote this...

My friends were treating me a little differently because I was suffering and, to some extent, shutting them out.  They respected my boundaries but were getting frustrated because, frankly, I was getting piss drunk during what used to be our special friendship times.  It was getting in the way of our normal fun.

I apologized today, and they eagerly forgave me.  They know what I've been going through, and... yeah.
Who cares that you can't choose family?  Friends are the ones who matter.
Solid friends, not just contacts.  Able to disagree strongly and yet remain friends.  Heck, disagreement is just one of the competitive games we play, where winning means nothing compared to the actual play.

But I've been apart and distrustful of them, in my time of need, which was frankly insulting to them.  I knew I wronged them and terrified that they might not take me back.

But "it's all good, fam".  I paid them back in a meaningless way I enjoyed, and which balanced the "scales" of my guilt.  They've had their troubles, too, and I suppose I've done some little part in pulling them back.
