It's ballistic nylon mesh with lots of sturdy padding.  So it's protective.  And it's so light and allows so much airflow that I panic sometimes when I'm wearing it, because I'll question myself for a split second on whether I forgot to put it on.  It's just not nearly as protective as my full-body kevlar Aerostitch suit of armor +10, which unfortunately is unbearable on a really hot day.  I'm sure it wouldn't be practical at all in Japa-land.

And it's the people who wear a helmet and nothing else that I consider to be full stupid.  They apparently want to bleed to death on the pavement or suffer the most unbearable recovery imaginable for months in the hospital instead of just breaking their head.  Road rash is one of the most horrendous injuries a person can suffer, and if I were going to leave myself vulnerable to it, I'd be sure to maximize potential for instant death too.

I dreamed that I got banned from Bay12forum. It's making me realize how my lack of self control had been reaulting in bullshit for me from someone blocking me and never talking to me again, to me getting warnings from Toady. I'm kind of worried about whether I will mess up again.

My understanding of it is that it's a post that basically contributes nothing meaningful to the current conversation or topic.
